    British Gillette Rocket
    Iridium Blade
    Master's Soap
    The Dridecker Brush
    Alum Rock
    Lab Series AS Balm

-The Jack Black Beard lube makes for an incredibly smooth shave-I put it on in the shower, and leave it on-lather over it. My blades seem to be lasting longer since I've been using it-I thought it was the Astra Keramik, but may have been the beard lube. Time will tell.

Gillette Red Tip - Wilkinson Sword - Sword Edge (10)

    Ever-Ready 150 Finest
    Speick Shave Stick

    Alum
    Superior 70 Bay Rum

Two nice WTG passes with the $6 razor I picked up to practice honing. I could have left it at that, but wanted a bit closer of a shave and did a quick ATG with the Red Tip and a 10 shave old blade. Very nice shave all around with only minor irritation.

    Sunday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/7 O'Clock day 4
    Euro Palmolive Classic SC :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Ivy & Castle Homme AS
    JHL Cologne

Back to the Super Speed, which has become my automatic go-to razor. It gives me the best shaves with no irritations or cuts no matter how the situation is. This morning, I had to shave in a hurry, but I still got the job done safely, and with ease. ;) :D

This shave supported TSD (sort of).

    1910 ABC Pocket Edition
Gillette Super Stainless Blade, 1972 (S2 date code)
    Re-knotted Ever-Ready boar
    Williams shave soap

Haven't bought much from the Shave Den Store, and honestly, with my huge stock of stuff, it's not likely that I'll buy anything in the near future. These vintage blades were bought here, though, quite some time ago, maybe a year.

What a pleasure finally to use this razor. As I mentioned on another thread, this is one that had stripped threads in the handle, which I fixed with a Helicoil. From some other evidence, I now see that I'd repaired it back in May or earlier. Didn't know it had been that long. Better late than never, and yes, it shaves very well.

    Suicide Sunday

Ok, first to explain the theme....I was thinking that to try and tame some of the gear I have that is really brutal, I'd dedicate a day to trying it out and see if I can't learn the difficult pieces of it. What better way to quench one's thirst than from drinking from the firehouse directly. So, I'm going to be dedicating my Sunday shaves to less than comfortable, but in the sake of trying to figure out the parts I have trouble with. So without further ado, I give you.....Suicide Sunday for January 30th, 2011!

    • Suicidal items indented
    • Omega Pro boar
    • AV Musk, home boosted with menthol
      • Gillette Slim Adjustable of 9
      • Treet Stainless
      • Colonel Conk's Amber

My Slim Adj. is a great razor, but opened up full throttle is a beast, which is really the only reason its on the list, but it is tolerable with other blades on 9 so it doesn't always deserve this distinction. The Treet blades are worse for me than Merkurs in any razor I have, so blending them with my Slim on 9 is as bad as it can possibly get with my arsenal of razors. The Colonel's Amber is worse for me than Williams with regard to being tricky, maybe I just got a bad puck of it but, oh well, I really don't like it so I figured it was deserving of being on the list of crap for today.

Ok, onto the shave....even with all of the things that I don't like with the blade and soap, I pulled off a DFS with some weepers on my 'stash and a few on my chin. Overall it was surprisingly comfy, slicing in at a solid 2.75 blades (out of 5).

I'm going to use the same set-up for the next few Sundays just to see if I can pull together a weeperless DFS at best. The stuff has to get used, right? Not using it is just keeping me from getting stuff I like or at least new stuff to figure out if I like or not. View attachment 19975
