I don't think I'll ever buy anything else...
Quality - to me, Semogue is synonymous with Quality. It is evident in their craftsmanship, their designs, and their raw materials. I have yet to shed a bristle, not a one.
Balance - this brush was meant to be held, it feels very comfortable in the hand, not top or bottom heavy...just right. Even loaded with lather it's not wobbly and sits on the counter top without tipping over. Resting on the edge of a bowl or scuttle, the handle is not so heavy to tip it out.
Density - Maybe not the most dense brush in production, but certainly not what I'd call sparse by any stretch of the imagination. It's not so dense that it won't hold any lather, but it's dense enough to give a good solid feel to the knot.
Luxury Factor - If luxury means how does the brush feel on the face, then this is tops. I'd swear the tips of this brush are softer than my silvertip. I believe one of the stigmas given to boars is that they're 'scritchy'. Maybe that's left over from the older brushes, maybe that's what people think of the Omegas, I don't know. Not so with the Semogue 1305. Soft, soft, soft...
Ease of Lather - Once she's broken in (which only took me 3 days), the Semogue 1305 will whip up a lather as easily as the best of them, and in fact probably better than most.
Price - at $13.38 USD (depending on conversion rate... 9.95 Euros) on
The Vintage Scent , you just can't go wrong. Even with shipping factored in, I could buy 3 for the price of my silvertip, and that's going no where near some of the exorbitant prices of some brushes.
In a nut shell, you simply can't go wrong purchasing this brush. In the "If There Was One" game, this is it hands down, every time.
