OK I love MB's Dragons Blood soap, but I get an irritation from it.
So I said what the heck and used it in the sower tonight.
VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basically the title says it all. I use to buy Dial/Zest/Coast type soaps....but then when i lived in San Antonio, i found L'Occitane. I started using their Verbena Vegetable oil soap. At 9 bucks a bar here in NY its a bit expensive, but one bar does last me a good month. Please put some suggestions that someone could get off the internet as well as on it.

I use a few soaps in the sower that irritate my skin. I also use an olive oil soap I got in a trade for face soap.

You like pain? Or you don't have skin anywhere but your face? :rofl Which I guess would include it's own bit of pain. :D
Or if you prefer me to be serious;
You are saying those soaps irritated your face, but don't irritate you as a bath bar? :confused:

No I get that, silly. He didn't say his face, he said his skin.
:rolleyes:And as a medical professional you should know most people have skin covering their body (for the most part atleast).

My bad. Normally when I say "skin" on this forum, it deals with my face. The soaps I've relegated to the shower dont irritate my body, but do irritate my face.

You can use every shave soap as a bath soap. Normally I don't do that but some soaps I had problems to get good lather have gone the sink.

That may be where my Ogallala soaps end up. Love the scent. Hate the lather. Rinse real clean though. :D

That's what usually happens when I buy Williams soap, although the one I have now seems to behave itself and lather real good.

Speaking of Mama Bear's Dragon's Blood soap (and HBS soap) -- that scent was one of the first ones I tried as a shaving soap, and I ended up trading it away because I thought it irritated my skin... but now I'm starting to think maybe it was my (lack of) technique that caused the redness/irritation, and burning sensation.
Short version: I'm thinking about buying another puck of her Dragon's Blood soap, just to be sure. ;)

You can also try painting half your face at a time like waxing/buffing a car to cut down the time a soap is on your face drying. If you're using a cream or soap as a pre-lather then you might want to use a nice "safe" one to start off with.

Too bad about that. I've been having great success making superlather w/ogallala and KMF unscented or Ems Unscented. It really works nice and doesn't take away from the scent at all.

Yes, that's just it. You've chosen the other option I've advocated in the past. It doesn't stand on it's own as a shave soap.

I dont do superlather.. All the soaps Ive had that dont cut it as a shaving soap on its own is now bath-soaps.. But hey.. Its a good excuse to buy more soap.. The only thing I miss about the Ogalla is the scent.. But I do have the AS and the Cologne so Im all set..
