I always have an extra-early meeting at work on Tuesdays, so I sometimes try to sneak in a shave on Monday night. Tonight? BAD IDEA. Worst shave I've ever had.

Hot water on face
'63 Fatboy w/ Derby Extra blade (Day 3)
accidentally performed the first pass on setting "9" -- whoopsie
B&B Standard Horn
Erasmic shave stick
Second pass and touch-up on setting "3" -- but damage had already been done
Warm water rinse
Cold water rinse
Booster Polar Ice A/S splash :drool
Cold water rinse
Styptic pencil -- hadn't had to use this bad boy in a LONG time
QED Peppermint Hydrosol
Baxter's of California A/S balm
MamaBear's Menthol A/S milk

Yikes. Double yikes. I tore my neck all to pieces with my first pass on "9" on the Fatboy. Severe redness, pain, and bumps! I don't recall ever getting razor bumps before .... hope they're not ingrown hairs!!

On a completely unrelated sidenote, the Booster Polar Ice is indeed an Aqua Velva clone... just as wonderful, and just as effective!!

Yeah, I guess I was overdue for one of those classic crap-shaves. Never had one this bad. Two reasons (I think) why it turned out the way it did tonight.

1. No shower before the shave, so probably inadequate pre-shave prep. Went outside my normal routine and paid the price.
2. Not paying attention and actually shaving on a setting of "9." Some guys can do that, just leave it on "9" and never adjust it. I've learned I'm not one of those guys. ;)

::gitCan't wait! :drool

I picked up 4 8oz. clear PVC bottles with a screw-on-squirt (or whatever it's called) top, so your goods are going out tomorrow -- Wednesday at the latest, if I can't break away from work during lunch to hit the Post Office!!

Yep, first time with a "9"... and even this one was by accident. I'm a moron sometimes (well ok.. MOST of the time ;) ) and the weird thing is -- cheeks and jawline are smooth like glass... neck looks like raw hamburger. My neck has always been a problem for me though, so no great surprise there.

2. Oh MAN I hope not! TJ and I managed to score some Booster stuffs from the Crazy Canuks up North... we're just discussing the best way to get him his cut of the loot... sort of like Ocean's 11, but with shaving stuff!! ::

The Panda blades are definitly for the asian market only.
I have a hunch Chinese beards are not as taught as the beards of other races thats why they get away with the panda blade .

I got a few to test , they didnt pass the test but instead to throwing them away I'll send off some blades to my customers for fun to try out and let them remember how blessed we are with Derby's ,Feathers,Sharps, 7am, Gillette,IP's.

But thats nothing compared to a couple of blades I have here that really REALLY hurts when you use them.

On a different note I did get a reasonable shave out of the panda just isnt worth your time.when there are blades that do 10 times a better job.

Hi Rene :)
Actually I really like trying new shave gear no matter what it is. It's what makes the shave experience fun and interesting :bounce015. We have a great laugh at work with swapping and sharing and trying new stuff out. I can only post my experiences and only by trying new items can I find the interest to take a quick photograph and make a comment, otherwise I just wouldnt bother. It helps alot when I get free samples to try :D

I actually have 4! After I bought the first one.....I bought 3 more....one for each of my sons. They are in storage until required.

Nice move Brian and very generous thats the way shaving should go from Father to Son who knows how to proper shave.how it goes now..well you watch Aggassi shave his bald head with an M3 Nitro or David Beckham with his Fusion razor and think they look smooth so Gillette is the best a man can get.

Even at the Kruidvat they used to have their own shave soap bowl line right now they cleared it and probably wont ever make it again they cleared the shelf and now its filled with Can in a Goo from Fusion..

Gillette sensor
C&E Best Badger
MB's Spiced Apple cider
alum
TOBS Bay Rum A/S
Burts Bees Bay Rum ASB

I know now why I use a DE. The sensor felt like it was tugging the whole time, even though the lather was as slick as it could be, and I did good prep. The shave was a little faster, but not anywhere as close or satisfying.

however, half an hour afterwards my skin was a bit on the dry side, so I applied some Nivea mild ASB. 5 minutes after that red pimples appeared on the neck. Now I finally know what has always caused those suckers, and I always thought it was a dull blade or poor preparation. Only too good I only have two 30ml travel-size bottles of it which I got for free some years ago.

Hot shower
SCS Preshave oil
Hot towels
DR Harris Almond Cream
B&B Horn Brush
Pleese/Feather
Alum block
Witch hazel
Royall Lime AS
DR Harris Aftershave milk
Azzaro Vetiver EDT

The DR Harris cream is a real nice product. Gave me tons of thick lather and lots of protection. Surprised there's not more buzz about it on the shave boards.
