Haven't used the store-bought Aluminum-laden antiperspirants in a while.
I stick with:
Alum/Crystal Stick or Rock -> and lately, the spray
Burts Bees (herbal scent)
Aubrey Organics (has a strong pine smell, so I don't like it for daily use)
Speick Deo spray (guess the scent ;))
> \/ <
Lately, I have been using the spray version of the crystal stick, Lafe's to be exact. These are much easier and less mess to use than the rock/stick version.
Problem -> They recommend 5-7 sprays per pit, which I think is the right amount....however it is very difficult to dry.
Remedy -> Alcohol Based Aftershave (AB/AS) applied after the alum-rock spray.Yes, you heard me right. This stuff is like a wonder drug. It dries out the area and leaves behind the nice fragrance you expect, and lasts much of the day. You get the best of both worlds with the combo of alum-rock-spray + AB/AS :happy088
Dude....
I am speechless.
I've been using the Crystal stick for about 10 years now.
Love it.
But now I have another level to reach.
AS after the crystal.
Awesome. Just awesome. :: to ya !

I have the Alum/Crystal Rock & Spray and the Burts Bees (herbal scent) as you do. Good idea on the alcohol spray to dry out your pits. We use a bottle of alcohol that we spray on the horses when they are wet and we need to dry them out fast before putting them away. It evaporates the water out of their coats while the alcohol evaporates.

Nuh uh, get your own str8. I use a DE on mine about every two weeks.
I can't handle anti antiperspirants, they cause me trouble with regular use. My preference is for the Burt's Bees deodorant. Not only does it work and I like the smell, a bottle of that lasts me more than a year with daily use.
Joe's the man !!
After my shower tonight I used my crystal on the pits
and followed it up with a splash of AV musk.
Too cool for school Daddy-O

As much as I'd like to switch a natural alternative deodarant, nothing I've tried ever works well for me. I'm stuck on Mitchum.

How long did you give them a chance?
What I found is that my body needed a good few month "sweating out" period to get rid of all the junk and toxins that mitchum, speed stick, etc. had clogged up in me.
After the sweating out period (best done in the winter, so you won't instantly pit out all your shirts) - you will still sweat slightly, but its a cleaner sweat.
....not to mention, you need to sweat.....its one of the ways your body removes toxins. Think of what happens to you if you can't move your bowels in a long time

WTF mang... you never cease to amaze me!
Trying this out in the morning. Do I want the pits smelling like Aqua Velva, or DR Harris Sandalwood, or Skin Bracer, or...? ::kar

It's all good, brah. In your honor, I'm going to use 3 drops of Olbas in my Ingram cream tomorrow morning. Follow that up with some Aqua Velva splash, then some MamaBear's Menthol milk, Baxter's balm, and finally both Anherb milk and gel. I should be set and chilled enough for the entire weekend!

Mennen Speed Stick came out with a nice new one--Irish Spring scented. It's very, very good, and effective.

Speed Stick used to stain my white shirts (along with Old Spice..etc.).
Does it for anyone else?
