For the good part: The Erasmic soap is one lovely fella and would normally give me one helluva great shave. But not today. Which leads me to the bad part:
I had four ingrowns from yesterday and my skin wasn't feeling great in the morning. The shave left quite some stubble behind and gave me a few red patches on the neck.
Luckily Mama Bears ASB works wonders on those red spots but it still was a lousy shave.
*sighs* My straight shaves give me so much trouble these days. I've got some spots on my face where the beard-hair is very soft - not fluffy but not as strong and thick as other parts and these are the spots where I just can't get a BBS shave with the straights. Well, I can go near-BBS there but only with 4,5 passes and my skin doesn't take this every day. No problems with the DEs, though. :confused:

Great Shave, Feels like I was beaten :eek: about the head with some Rose bushes :drool

My new (to me!) large brown Moss Scuttle arrived in the mail today. Looked so good I decided for an evening shave. WOW. :drool

I've tried a few makeshift scuttles so far...
smaller ceramic bowl inside a larger ceramic bowl
ceramic quaiche-like bowl in a Rival Hot Pot

But NOTHING compares to the way the Moss Scuttle passes the heat through to my brush, and lather. The large Moss Scuttle is the PERFECT size to contain a fully loaded SR 3124... the brush doesn't slide up the side of the bowl, the handle doesn't end up flat in the bottom of the bowl... it just keeps the lather nice and TOASTY warm. I'll still use my Rival hot pot to get the water to the initial temperature, and just pour into the inner chamber of the Moss Scuttle. The actual size of the Scuttle itself was smaller than what I had pictured in my mind (just based off various pictures I've seen of it) but Sara really has created a wonderful wetshaving item... I dare say indispensable. :cool: :cool:

Merci bien, Jeff. Celles dont je suis le plus satisfait sont les plus minimalistes. Pour la photo ci-dessus, j’ai juste utilisé, avant de le jeter, le papier d’emballage froissé de Penhaligon’s, afin de cacher l’écran du PC derrière et la sale table Ikea dessous. Une sobre disposition, une simple bougie, et hop, le tour est joué.

Pas de projecteurs, non plus que de réflecteurs, bref, pas de matériel pro. Tout est dans l’éclairage. :)

I hacked myself up pretty bad with the Magic Razor. My face was bloody, red, raw, and just a total mess. I did however, get BBS.....and I can enjoy it because the LT really does make the irritation and bumps "Disappear" (plus my face is numb, this stuff is a menthol napalm :rofl)

Heck of a shave. The wonderful thing about JM Fraser's cream, is that even if it's too thick on the first pass, it soaks up water on subsequent passes (since I warm water rinse in between passes) and the 2nd, 3rd, etc. passes are perfection!

Jason, you're right about that. I also noticed that. Another thing is, when you rinse your face off after the shave, I find you have to spend a little more time doing it, because the Fraser cream tends to want to stay on the skin.
