I have found a great site for all things manly.
The Art of Manliness (http://artofmanliness.com/2008/03/01/bringing-back-the-hat/)
This is a link to the hat section with some descriptions of the various hats, what to wear them with and how to wear them along with some etiquette.
A great site to explore.

That's a nice site and I like the Guide to Being a Gentleman in 2008.
It's a shame that while hats are making something of a comeback, hat etiquette is almost completely forgotten.
I love hats and want to have a hat to match every color of suit I own someday.

Here is another link to the same site (http://artofmanliness.com/2008/05/28/the-perfect-hat-for-your-ugly-mug/#more-249), this page is kinda hard to find so I am linking it.
How to find the perfect hat. as usual YMMV.

I can testify to the recommendations for different face shapes. I used to wear a fedora and it never looked quite right (nice but just not great). I switched to the homburg and it looks fantastic. The homburg is a recommendation for people with square faces, like mine.
If one wants to wear hats, it's a good idea to review this article and look for the hats that compliment your facial shape.
Nice links, SW!

While I absolutely concur with RS about most of the celebs we see wearing hats these days (they are well known, but not necessarily good examples of modern men in hats), there is something we can learn from them: wearing a hat does not equate with formality. Think of Sinatra and Dino sitting poolside in their chinos and golfing shirts with their hats and you'll get the idea. I wish I knew how to add an image to a post, but you can just google photos any of the great ones from the classic hat wearing era and you'll see them wearing hats in all sorts of more casual attire.
So wear the darn things! If you're even a touch insecure, just toss on a blue blazer with whatever you're wearing, add the hat, cock it off to the side a bit and you'll be stylin' brother. If you like it, you'll almost surely look good.
Great links and posts. THANKS

Very true. Sinatra could probably make a fedora look good wearing it with pajamas.

A hat is like a suit. A gorgeous hat needs the right person to look great on. Some people can wear them, some cant.

Gee, I didn't see baseball caps being worn backwards and sideways at that site. Is it because it's poor etiquette, or just plain stupid looking? :D

Heh. I've got a black leather fedora I wear with my clericals (black/ white) every day. Gets a lot of looks.

Hehehehe.....this makes me think of bald guys with baseball hats practically glued to their heads, and the first time you see them without out it, it's like Oh my Gosh! Like some freak accident happened over night. They don't even look the same!
Nothing wrong with being bald. Be bald, be proud!
Glad to see someone else shares my dislike of that particular "fashion statement". ;)Don't forget these guys who leave the damn tag on the hat so it dangles on the side :angry032

I'm not sure I understand your comments. Minnie Pearl is not living anymore so if you read something about the last 10 years, it's an old article.
If you are referring to the new ball cap trend of the "Official logo" stickers from NFL, NBA and such, those stickers identify the hat as an officially licensed product (I believe). When you said tag hanging from the side, I thought of Minnie since you can see she has a tag dangling from the side of her hat.
I'm sorry if I read your post incorrectly

NP, yes I was referring to the new ball cap trend with the OL sticker and the tag hanging with the ball cap cocked to the side

I can't stand that either. If you are going to wear a ball cap (and I do frequently to protect my bald pate from the sun when I am outside dressed in shorts, etc. -- I DON'T want skin cancer on my noggin), wear it correctly -- that is, with the bill facing forward, not tilted any direction but backwards a little, etc..

I do wear a ball cap to sports events.
ARSENAL!!
I wear a flat cap every other time. It is a Kangol wool job and it wears well.

OK - Here is an image of the homburg hat I wear from the store I purchased it from.
Homburg Hat (http://www.hats-plus.com/detail.aspx?ID=429&Name=Beaver-Brand-Homburg-Hat)
I have it in black, which is a little difficult to see on the page, but if you choose a lighter color, you'll see it better.
I also have 2 fedoras. One is a navy blue and one is black. I seem to like the Beaver Brand hat mfgr. The hats are stiff and hold their shape quite well but also look very elequent.

There is a Habadascher across the street from where I work. John Helmer (http://www.johnhelmer.com/).
They are a men's store, catering to hats and tailored clothes. They also do mail order.
