Not full blown I think but I'm busy today getting ready. If I'm gone for a while you'll know Internet is down and maybe electric. Take care and I'll see ya when I see ya!

Us Louisianans (is that a word? Okay, cajuns...) know what you're going through. Much prayer, good thoughts, etc...

Be safe, Steve! Prayers to you and yours.

OK, shutters are up, generator tested, food, batteries, water, sandbags, vino, I think we're set. :D
Rainfall expected 4-8 inches, storm surge expected 5-8 feet. We should be fine, we're 4 miles from the beach and Gulf, unless things go really wrong with the forecast. Mother Nature!
Updates later. :D

So far it sounds just like Eduardo that hit us a couple of weeks ago. It gave us some much needed rain and just a little bit of damage.

Good luck!

There should be plenty of water if you stick your head out the window.

Well, it's almost 11:30 PM. Fay still remains a Tropical Storm. The house where we are now is fine but the one we were moving to this Saturday is not. New roof wasn't finished and their dry in didn't hold. What a feeling watching water run in through the new light fixtures, fans and the drywall falling. Couldn't raise the roofer tonight but did get a cleanup crew out with some blue tarps. Will head back over about 2AM to see if it's holding, Heavy rain and winds gusting to 50MPH. Not quite what we had planned. :shocked031

Well, I pray y'all will be safe down there, but if this thing heads on up the coast, we sure could use the rain here!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and your support. We are all OK and that's what counts. Tropical Storm Fay was a better option than a Hurricane.
Everything can and will be repaired, we'll just have to postpone our move a bit. Our problems pale in comparison to many others and we'll move forward.

Thanks again my friends and God bless.

I'm glad y'all made it through safe, but that does really suck about the house. Sorry.

Steve, sorry to hear about the damage. Like you say, though, things can be rebuilt or replaced, but people can't. Glad y'all are okay!

Four days of rain from this one! Tropical storms seem to like stalling and dumping massive ammounts of rain. It happened to us in Houston in 2001.

I hope all you Floridians are doing all right.

Sorry to hear about the damange you've sustained. I hope it hasn't gotten worse.

This thing just won't die! Still getting bands of rain as it moves north. Solid roof on the house now and we're drying out. :D

Well, the rain bands finally made their way to north Georgia and South Carolina. Even had some tornadoes in the Clemson and Greenville areas! Fortunately, none too near us. Haven't heard all the details of one that hit near campus and downtown, but I don't think anyone was hurt.

Now we wait on Gustav!

The house is supposed to be together by tonight and we'll move in on Thursday. I could have sworn I retired a cuppa months ago. All of this makes me think it was easier to go to work each day. :D

Blair, take good care!

Luckily our house is on high ground, several areas of town are flooded due to "sheet flow", water making it's way down the state towards the Everglades. This has affected so many people. The Red Cross has been working overtime. We are the lucky ones.
