Hi,
Last week I was in France and I bought two kinds of gillette in a drugstore.
bleue extra 1.66€
super silver 4.23€
I tried a super silver in my mild feather popular lathering with tabac soap and i get and incredible BBS: smooth, irritationfree and ingrown hairs free.
Although I can get the same result with feathers, feathers give me ingrown hairs in the chin area ans the ATG pass is not so smooth.
I am surprised nobody disscuss these blades more often.

For 9$ a pack, I might as well use an Mach 3

I tried for 2 days a bleue extra.
results are identical but the shaving sensation are quite different. I get the impression this one is less smooth and pull a little. Nevertheless I get no irritation and the price is quite lower.
Who knows why there are such a big price difference?

Hi,

i am using those two blades since august now and switched from the feather popular to the portable.
I realise that the bleue extra give me a longer lasting bbs although not as smooth as super silver.
With the portable I get 3 perfect shaves from BE and 4 from SS. Considering the price difference I won't recommend SS: 1 more shave but a weaker ones and 2.5 the price!

It deffinetly upsets me that all the blades I like are over 2$ a pack.
You use a feather popular? And it's mild?
This is the plastic twist-to-open?
I might pick one of those up...

i used both the platisc popular and the all metal 3 pieces portable.
the portable provides a closer shave and is cheaper (pauldog seller on SMF) .
Yeah, I have already ordered one from PaulDog.
I live in Japan, so I can get the portable pretty easily; I just never thought it was worth it...maybe I was wrong!

you mean the plastic one as it's the only one that's still produced.
i learn to de shave with it and get hardly cut/irritated but a popular shave is short-living, at least for me.
i wont advise to buy it if you already know how to use a DE razor.
