I have a few pm's and things that I need to answer, but my car broke down 2 hours away from home yesterday, so I don't have time, but I'm not ignoring anyone.
Still have to find a way to get my car home. :ashamed001

Sorry to hear that!
Isn't there a towing service you can call ? Does it still roll and steer? If so, maybe someone can get a tow bar and help you? Or maybe the garage that will fix it for you... maybe they can tow it too?

Money, Johan. :o
My 6 hour trip turned into 12 hours. Luckily, I didn't have Jenna with me when the car broke down.
Oh, and now I'm just sitting around waiting for people to call me back.......so, I guess I will answer those pm's and things. :)

AAA will never arrive on time.
Use your time wisely. I guess.
Sorry to hear about the breakdown.

I too am sorry to hear of your misfortune. Money is always the issue with automobiles.

That's why I hate cars. Nothing more than a mechanism to get from point "A" to point "B."
Good Luck Jo... hope you get things worked out with the ride soon.
Sorry to hear that JoAnna. Good luck, I hope it does not take too much to get you back on the road.

Car is now at a friend's house, waiting to be looked at, and hopefully fixed.
I don't even want to think about the money. So far the tow truck was the worst part.
Thanks, everyone.

I hope you can get it fixed soon at a very reasonable price.

Initial thoughts are that the problem is the harmonic balancer.
 Never heard of it. I'm saddened that my harmonica is unbalanced. (lame girly joke for the day)
Anyway, my friend hasn't looked at it yet. This is just the prognosis from the other guys who have heard the car running.
A new harmonic balancer doesn't look to be too expensive, but I guess it may have messed up other stuff too. Should know more in a day or so.

Is this the same car that busted when I was in AK?
I remeber it being the fan belt?

Thats what happens when you play the car stereo too loud :p
I guess it shouldn't be too bad if it's only the crankshaft damper, but hopefully it can be as trivial as Will said too...
I'm joining the "Good Car Karma" dance! (I have also sacrificed a handfull of wheel bearings at the alter of alternators.)

You must be confusing me with some other girl. :angry037
The only thing that car did that I recall while you were playing Eskimo, was the trunk lid hit me right across the bridge of my nose. It needed new trunk struts.

Hi Boss,
I'm glad you were able to make it home safely, and have the car somewhere it can be looked at. Yeah, you caught a break by not having Jenna along for that. Still.......... it musta been a real PITA.
I'll also add my good thoughts towards your unfortunate vehicle, and will wish for the best.

I could have, you’re not the only five foot tall woman nagging me on a daily basis.
I am sure you had a problem with your car and we went back and forth on what could be wrong with it...

Well, I hope that thing won't cost you an arm and a leg, and I'm glad you were able to get it safely to where someone could look at it. Hang in there!

The car is done for. :(
I'll miss that stupid car.
Apparently the problem has something to do with cams. And apparently the whole engine is shot cause of it. A new engine costs more than the car is worth.
So............. car go down the hole. :sad024

That's what I was afraid of. Except when you mentioned the harmonic balancer, I figured it would be the crankshaft. But toast is toast.
Still, where can you buy a car for the price of an engine block? If you like the car and nothing else major is wrong with it, it's something to consider.

It's a 10 year old car that has chronic problems and always has. :(
The tie rods have to be replaced every other year or so. The fans stop working every few years. The car has lots of little things that require more and more money being poured into it.
The car isn't worth the $1300, minimum, it would take to fix it, unfortunately.

I'm sorry about the mess, JoAnna, but hopefully you can find a replacement that won't be such a pain.

Fortunately, I have a car on loan from a friend until I can get my situation straightened out. Have to get Jenna to dr visits and stuff, you know.
Had her 4 yr check-up the other day. She's lost 2 pounds over the last year. :ashamed001 Not good. Back to the whole milk and Carnation Instant Breakfast. And back to the gastroenterologist, too.

How did I miss this? I am soooo sorry for your troubles!
Sorry for your car ills.
Years ago, I taught my boys the two Immutable Rules of Automobiles.
1. MOST of the time, the car will take you from point A to point B.
2. ALL of the time it will cost you money.
Unfortunately, you've hit the jackpot and have been afflicted by both.
Best of Luck finding a decent replacment.
