Sigh........my 4th shave with the recently acquired toggle. I'm hoping I still need to get used to this razor and maybe my technique's off with this model. It's just not as comfortable or smooth as my fatboy so far. The weight's different, and obviously the handle is too. I even set the thing down one number from my usual, but that's no help. I get a very good, but not great shave. Funny, a while ago I had an Executive I really wanted to love, but I never connected with it. Looked great, but it just didn't fit my face.
Anyway, next blade for tomorrow will be the Iridium after the last 4 with a feather, and see what happens.

At the end of my shower, I used a facial exfoliating scrub, then went over my face again with a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner. Used TSD Bergamot with a BLK4 and NO BOWL!!! And this '65 SuperSpeed with a Wilkinson Black blade was both close-shaving and very forgiving. Three passes plus touchup, and this is literally the closest shave I have ever had. Unbelievable. Followed up with Kistna aftershave balm from The Body Shop. I don't expect anyone around here to care for it, but I liked it.

Anyhow, I know there are other places this should go, but I'm just so happy, I wanted to tell everyone!!!

I've almost forgotten how good C&E Almond Oil SC is... :D

I am almost always surprised, when I reach for that tub, in a good way!

For me, I needed all the cooling power I could muster, it was warm today!

I just shaved (after midnight, so it's Saturday) after an evening shower. So relaxing :sleep001...

I normally lather on my face, but I treated myself to a "Superlather! "
Using an old stainless steel "dog bowl," filled with hot tap water, I set a very old black plastic Rubbermaid cereal bowl inside and went to work:

> Valobra (almond) soft soap
> Proraso Classic (green) cream
> Ever-Ready 300 PBT vintage badger brush (small knot, pretty floppy) held with fingertips on the knot
> Gillette Aristocrat (1947?)
> Marlin "Magnetized" vintage blade (1940s?) FIFTH shave! :D
> Alum block
> T.N. Dickinson Original witch hazel
> Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue aftershave

I have got to name the superlather--it was THAT GOOD!
How about: Val-Pro ? Pro-Val ??
No...wait... VALORASO !!!

Honestly-- TONS of slick, creamy, rich, thick, pearlescent, protective lather!!! I did 5 (five) passes:
WTG/XTG/XTG/ATG/Buffing. NO irritation--the alum block actually felt COOL!

I am wondering just how many good shaves I can get out of this blade. Not quite BBS or
modern-day "s-m-o-o-t-h," but very close and comfortable. You can hear the whiskers being cut even on the later passes.
An interesting experience!

The witch hazel "erased" the alum residue and the Velva provided just enough bracing coolness on a hot summer night. Great skin care all-around! ;)

I encourage you to try the VALOROSO ! When I repeat this Superlather, I will be sure to have a camera ready to show y'all what I'm talkin' about! :D

Have a great weekend,
--Morrie

Chabrawichi 555 S/C
Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
Anherb A/S conditioner
Chabrawichi 555 cologne

Chabrawichi 555 is made in Egypt since the 1940's. The shaving cream and cologne smell very lemony and pleasant, but the shaving cream, in spite of its rich foamy lather, has no skincare, and leaves my face and neck feeling dry and vulnerable to irritation. The Anherb conditioner killed it in a split second, and now all is well! ;) :D

Sunday afternoon...after a nice, warm bike ride:

Merkur Progress / Derby
Rooney Heritage Stubby Medium
Mitchell's Wool Fat
DR Harris Pink; Clinique Post Shave Healer
Penhaligon's Castile EdT

The Fat produced an exceptionally dense lather today. I've found that the Fat really "ferments" into a much thicker lather as my brush sits in the scuttle between passes.
