I have just discovered this great product. As you may already know, my wife just gave birth over the weekend to a beautiful baby girl. She decded to breast feed this time and got a tube of Lansinoh Brand HPAŽ Lanolin that is primarily made for chapped, cracked, and sore nipples. This is supposed to be the worlds purest form of lanolin. I have provided a link to a site that provides alot of info on this product. I will say this, the stuff makes an awesome lip balm!!

Now I have to figure out the best way to add this stuff to some soaps and creams. Should I just melt it down and stir it in? With all the hooplah about lanolin based shaving soaps like MWF, this stuff should be a fantastic shaving cream/soap additive. Any opinions, advice, or suggestions?

I may be wrong, but in the case of Mitchell's I think the lanolin is added to the mixture prior to the saponification process....I have read of another that added that lanolin to their soap, I don't believe they achieved the desired results....:(

Moved it to "soapmaking and lotions"

And no, I don't think you can add it to soaps and (shaving-) creams. At least not after the saponification process as Neale already mentioned.
