Nice John! I really like the Slant and a Feather blade, although you do have to be careful...I have also had great shaves with a Derby or Israeli / Crystal blade too :)

I don't think the craftsman was a straight shaver, but as it turns out, many of the woods he used are favorites for scales - the top is of African wenge, and the base is Macassar (sp?) ebony, for instance. What a coincidence!

No shave yesterday but todays will be interesting.


I have 3 cubes from CAR (Hydrolast) that have just been sitting around so this morning I milled one down into a glass tub (Anchor Hocking type) for future use in lather experimentation.
Im not sure how these things are processed but they are hard as rocks.
I ended up with basically soap dust and some chunks .....heating it up a bit didnt help at all.
So today I will use da cube dust with some Caswell Massey Sandalwood soap to see what I can conjure up.

I agree with you all the way. I love it too. I also have the Max Disinfecting a/shave, which has no menthol, yet, it seems to be cooling as well.
