Well,

I just did the upgrade to Firefox V.3, anyone else trying this one out? Any good extensions or must haves?

Looks pretty good so far , although I miss some of my themes and extensions :(

I'll probably wait for awhile, mostly due to laziness. haha

Gotta love Firefox though!

Yeah, that. How do you do that?

Cause if Firefox wipes out my bookmarks ONE MORE TIME.............:angry019

Nice,

I have been looking for some add in's it looks pretty good....I do like the new drop down in the location bar...the picture viewer looks like it may be cool too ;)

That Pic Lens extension is pretty cool....a pretty neat picture viewer :)

didn't have to update my bookmarks, it did it for me automatically. pic lens is a good ad on, it allows for looking at lots of images easily.

+1, and the bookmark button in the location bar is really nice, too.

That'll come in handy for me.

I've been using the beta version for a little while now - it finally upgraded me this morning. I'm glad they have the full release out because the beta kept hanging on me.

Firefox 3 is good enough for me to consider the switch from Safari...

It feels slightly slower though :(

I love it. Great upgrade, I love the new changes. Only thing I hate is that a lot of my add-on's aren't updated to work with it.

I've been using it since the beta was released. I've been fairly impressed with it. The extensions were a little scarce early, but now the ones I use have been upgraded. I like the tags which are much better for organizing favorites, the way the address bar works and the Most Visited feature that is like an auto "favorites" feature.

I need that plug-in that lets me go back by holding down the right mouse key and clicking the left. It doesn't work in Firefox 3, and it's driving me nuts not to have it!

Hi Bob,

I searched for Navigation, perhaps something like this will work?

Smoothwheel works nicely on my laptops scroll pads...:)

I'm using the Phoenity Modern theme now, anyone have any others they like?

I tried Aquatint Black Gloss theme, but it was a little too dark on the tabs for me....

Thanks!

What's the name of the plugin? I may be able to update it for you.

With firefox, it's entirely likely that an extension will work fine with new versions, although firefox won't give those applications a chance to try, if their version doesn't match the one listed within the extensions code. If you want to try those old extensions anyway, the process below will give them permission to run. Know that by trying this, you run the chance of akward behavior from outdated items, but it's easy enough to turn back off.

Type about:config into Firefox’s address bar and click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button if it shows up.
Right-click anywhere. Choose New>Boolean. Make the name of your new config value extensions.checkCompatibility and set it to false.
Make another new boolean pair called extensions.checkUpdateSecurity and set the value to false.
Restart Firefox.

Now any extension that isn’t yet officially Firefox 3 Beta compatible and doesn’t have secure updates (like Better Gmail and friends) will be enabled.
Final warning: These changes may lead to unexpected wacky behavior. Proceed at your own risk!

Actually, the Awesome Bar isn't a plug-in, hehe. It's the new name for the address bar up top. As you type in it, it'll bring up a list of possible web addresses you might want to go to based on your bookmarks and history. It also doubles up as a search box if you just type in a word, working kind of like Google's "I'm feeling lucky" button.

Try it. It's great!

Definitely slower! I think I'll go back to Safari... The only advantage so far is that ebay works better in FF3...

Yeah, Safari is still faster than Firefox, even though Firefox 3 does improve from Firefox 2. However the advantage (on a Windows machine at least) is that Firefox 3 is less of a memory hog than Safari. I haven't seen anyone do a test on a Mac.

I'm not familiar with Safari, but I have used Opera in the past. So far, I'm liking FF 3, it's working better on my machine that FF2 did.

I think I may get a Mac in the future...but the thing is...you can get a PC with the same thing for 1/4 of the cost.

Without trying to turn this into a Mac Vs. PC thing like we have had before, I would buy a Mac Laptop but I prefer to stick to PC Desktops for tweak ability at home. Just me.

Now watch it you Mac Lovers.. I got a tranq pistol here with your names on it if you get too rowdy!

My main add-ons :

All-in-one gestures: Basically does the same as Mouse Gestures. I hold the right button of my mouse and draw a line to the left or the right to go back or forth.

Download status bar: it makes every download appear on the status bar.

Download Helper: To download videos from the likes of youtube.

Fasterfox: to run faster than Safari

Flagfox: it shows where the page I’m browsing is located

Flashgot: Duh.

Foxclocks: I know what time it is for my friends in the Far East or West.

Image Toolbar: Basically adds the same functions as the IE6 image toolbar

Image zoom: I can zoom in or zoom out pictures. It’s very handy when a big picture ruins the layout of the forum. Zoom out 50% and bam, everything goes back to normal.

For me, I can't live with out:

Adblock Plus
Adblock Filterset.G
Minimize to tray(not compatible with 3.0 yet, it's driving me nuts)
Google Toolbar (It's where all my bookmarks go)
Download statusbar

These are the first things I add to new installitations, before I do anything else.
