These kits are: One 12x4 inch leather flatbed hone, or bench strop. One 12x4 inch glass bed for using with wet dry papers Ill also throw in three 3x 11 inch strips of 1000 grit wet/dry honing paper. The bases on both of these are constructed of MDF with rubber feet to prevent sliding. All the MDF edges have been coated with polyurethane to help prevent water damage. The leather is vegatable tanned natural unfinished cowhide ready to absorb the paste of your choice or to be dressed to your liking. Both the leather and glass are permanently affixed to the bases. This kit does not replace the Norton 4000/8000 or any other workhorse honing setup, it is designed to bookend you main hones. The glass bed and paper is an inexpensive way to remove nicks and set a bevel for your main honing set-up, while the leather combined with paste is for a final polish after your razor is sharp.
