I have 5 one pound bricks of melt and pour shave soap base for sale, sale canceled for each brick.
When I got in to the wet shaving game I thought it would be fun to make my own melt and pour soaps. It is, but I also enjoy trying the other soaps and creams on the market, so I have only made about 1 lb of soap. It will take forever to go through all the soap I bought. These are $9 each with free shipping on ebay where I got them.

Here is a link (http://candleandsoap.about.com/od/soaprecipes/a/mpshavingsoap.htm) to how I make my soaps using the melt and pour base.

ingredients: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerin (kosher, of vegetable origin), purified water, sodium hydroxide, sorbital, sorbitan oleate, soy bean protein, wheat protein, and titanium dioxide.

Interesting.....I'll have to see what EOs I can get locally and maybe make some bath soap.

Telly, yours is sent out. No more are for sale. Turns out that shipping was more than I estimated, so I guess I will have a 15 year supply.

Rodd, I just got the base. Thanks. Is this the recipe you've used?

Melt your soap base in the microwave or a double boiler
Once it's melted, add in 2 tsps. of clay for each pound of soap base you've melted
Stir well, making sure that all of the clay gets dissolved
Add in your fragrance or essential oil and stir
Pour it into your mugs or cups. If you have gotten a lot of bubbles from stirring, just spritz them with a bit of rubbing alcohol
When the soap has cooled and thickened a bit, give it one more gentle stir. The clay can sometimes have a tendency to settle to the bottom of the mug.

for the most part, but a couple things I am doing different after some experimentation

the clay I have is too coarse, so I had to crush and cut it, then mix it with some glycerin, then it dissolved better.

I also started adding the essential oils after it was in the mug or container, and just starting to gel. This prevents it from burning off with the heat, many of the oils have a very low flash point, so this just seems more reliable for me. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
