this shave was sooooo nice and cold--that Italian version of Palmolive Menthol smells great, and the lather is super-rich and thick, and the cooling sensation hits you as soon as you begin brushing it on your face. The Max a/shave is from Bulgaria, and also is a menthol bomb, with a great scent. ;) :D

The combination of the "second batch" (hi-loft) Emillion and the IK soap produced quite a luxurious lather....one of the best yet. It was easily enough for 3+ passes....but I don't skimp on the soap ("a little too much is just enough").

I now understand what everyone is talking about when they talk about a brush that's "dense and firm, but soft at the tips." Both of my Savile Row brushes (3124 and 3330) are, to me, the definition of luxury -- not floppy at all, but soft and decadent. But this Shavemac pre-2005 hair brush has the same feel at the tips, but a firmer, stronger hair shaft or something.... I can actually feel the scrubbier nature of the bristles while applying each pass. It's not stiff and unforgiving (like a boar brush or a Pure badger)... but rather firm, and ultra-soft at the tips. Impressive!
