Simplex 7 military Razor

Can someone tell me a little something about the Simplex7. Was it issued or bought at the PX. and what is the safe way to clean one. thinking about using it a part of a SOTD for Jun 6 (D-Day)

Came in a cardboard box, made by the Federal Razor Blade Company of NY. Plastic handle, I wouldn't boil it with the handle on. Something like Scrubing Bubbles should clean it up just fine. Shavewise, almost like a Gillette Tech. Don't know where or how they were sold. The Federal Razor Blade Co was quite active in the 1930's-40's, Ceased operations sometime in the 1950's
