Next month I will be flying to DC for a week. I plan to have no checked luggage. Any suggestions where I can pick up some DE blades and/or other supplies?

You could mail a batch ahead to your destination. If you're staying in a hotel, call and ask if they can hold it for you.

Drug stores like CVS, Wallgreens, etc... usually carry DE blades. Wal-Mart as well. Usually the ASRCO (American Safety Razor Co.) blades rebranded as their own. Even some grocery stores carry them. They may not make your socks roll up and down but they'll get you by.

This advise works for all locations. No exotic shave places here that I have found. We have AOS, C&E, Gentlemens Quarters, etc... nothing special. What is the reaction of TSA with DE's ? Do they notice ? I travel a lot but I don't have issues. I assume if they noticed a blade they would take blade only ? Maybe?

You have to do some looking but shave goodies are to be had.

I THINK you can take one or two through security in a carry-on. You'd have to check the TSA website for sure. There is a good chance they won't notice.

From the TSA Website (http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm#4):
"Safety Razors - including disposable razors. Yes Yes" (first yes for carry-on, second for checked luggage)
I wanted to be sure for myself...
