Howdy, guys,
for sale is a ~180-200 years old French "Acier Fondu" (=Cast Steel) straight razor - very rare and hard to find.
The straight and not curved (also a sign of the old age) scales are made of translucent horn and feature a nice design. The blade itself is in good condition, though it looks like the scales were shortened sometime in the past (see the second hole) and some kind of monkey tail has been carved into the rear end as these old razors didn't have a modern monkey tail back in their time and were rather hard to hold.
Without the modifications the razor would be worth much more (over 100€) so I'm asking 60€ (Euros due to the daily changes in the value of the dollar - currently 1€= ~1,53 USD) including paypal fees and worldwide shipping.
NOTE: The razor is not shave ready - it is sold as a restoration/honing project!
Thanks for looking at this nice piece of shaving history!
