Anyone have any recommendations for a bag to carry the shaving gear when travelling? Before it was easy, a plastic bag to carry the mach 3 and a can off compressed cream, now I need something to carry the brush, bowl, Merkur and a few creams and a/s....

I stopped in C.O. Bigelow on saturday and they gave me a very nice black canvas dopp bag with what looked to be nylon or something lining the inside. This thing was sturdy, big, and free with purchase (i picked up a tube of GFT almonds). I tend to just shove everything into one big bag. I have a zirh bag made of mesh at the moment that works out very well for keeping everything dry and not getting anything soggy. I'd imagine if it were in a suit case and opened up, id be petty screwed. I'm sure if you look around at the dept. stores you can find a nice compartmentalized bag with room to store everything you own.

Bath & Body works used to make one- sometimes you can still get them on eBay. It's ballistic nylon. I've gotten years of use out of it; it's easy to clean; and it wasn't that expensive to get. It's a little bigger than most toiletrie bags I've seen.
I've got probably 500 nights in hotel rooms with it, and except for the toothpaste, it looks new. You might be able to get one at a bath & body works outlet...

I really like the hanging bags. I got mine from LLBean - the one Bronco has there is nice looking too. They have lots of pockets that are easy to grab and replace items from. You don't have to "unpack" everything or go fishing around for things.
I don't know about traveling with a bowl though...;)

After looking at some of these online, I definitely like the hanging kind the best.
Cabela's® Ripcord™ Shower Kits (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp;jsessionid=GOKJ3AV1FZTKFLAQBBKSCN3MCAEFMI WE?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=&id=0005889515092a&navCount=5&podId=0005889&parentId=cat20128&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IJ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20128&hasJS=true&_requestid=41745)
They are great! I've been using the smallest version of this for about 3 years now. They are compartmentalized and have loops to hold everything in place so that there isn't any need to dig around in it like you would with a traditional bag. They also have a detachable shaving mirror that can be hung up with a hook. Less than 3 inches thick when closed which makes for easy packing in luggage and costs under $20.

I use a handbag made of antique wood, not as a traveling bag but as my main cream/razors/brush box.
It looks nice to have in the bathroom and also to have while travelling.

That sounds really interesting, can you post some pics of it?

OK, no problem. When I'll get home, and start shaving, I'll take a picture of it
