It's almost so sad it's funny, that it has taken me so long to be able to shave with a DE and use an alcohol aftershave splash without feeling like my face is on fire, but I've finally made it.

I really like the Max AS. It has a very good scent and cools you down big time!

The only place I should've used an ASB is on my chin/adam's apple.

Shaving Other: Face Prep Mild cleanser begin shower. 45-60 sec HOT water end shower 20-30 sec splash begin shave.

Shaving Other: Technique (DE WTG)/(DE 45XTG/ATG Cleanup)

Result: 4.5/5.0 First shave with this product. I wasn't disappointed. I took a risk on this because even though something is supposed to be top notch and it costs more than average, it should be great. The lather, glide, cushion and skin care were all there. If you want scent, forget it. It's a nice clean, fresh, "soap" scent. Now, the trick will be to use this back to back with say the Institut Karite and the Crabtree & Evelyn Soaps for comparison. At first impression, I'd say this soap should hold it's own. Yes, you do see me using two DE razors in this shave. I did a workout just before showering and shaving this morning and I didn't trust my arms to hold the Feather ACD-N I usually use so, I combined the Merkur Progress and Slant Bar razors to give me a similar result.

Like I said I was going to do, I used the Institut Karite Soap with some Anherb Conditioner and some Thayers' Original Witch Hazel Toner. 4.6/5.0 shave. In addition to wanting to compare the Institut soap to the Truefitt and C&E soaps I used earlier in the week, I wanted a no scent shave since I was testing at the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles) early in the morning.

Some slight irritation with this shave otherwise it was a good shave. On a side note I put a bit too much pressure on the brush since there was a still some lather to be built up afterward well it was my first shave with the scuttle.

Yep, thats where mine came from.....These are Friodur blades that John Crowley has and they have been sent to Robert Williams for re-scaling. :D
