BK8 Auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220223554125&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=012)

The brush known as "The Chipper" (http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2478&highlight=Chipper) :happy088

Just a fun little auction, and someone's chance to try a $140+ brush, and support TSD at the same time.

This pic is Will's. He took it right after the "incident".
So, no that is NOT my hand. :p

I wish I had ebay. I love slightly damaged and wonderfully priced shave gear.

Or C, I figured some people, like Michael :p, would try to be funny, suggesting it was my hand.

Why don't you have Ebay?

If I had ebay I would own 1000000000000000 straight razors and every razor ever made. I can only afford the 6 or so that I own and no straight razors. Its better off that I dont have an account. It took alot to just get me to sign up for paypal.

I think that is great restraint ! And I don't want the bidding competition ;)

Sorry to hear Lee but im sure it will end up in the $80 regions ...
This is just one of those underated great brushes it is rock solid for creams and whips up lather from soaps aswell , it wouldnt surprise me at all if it would whip up lather from a brick stone.. !

Gorgious brush chip or no chip it wont matter to the performance of the brush due to its great silvertip badgerhair.

I have some tips for beginners using this BK8:

1- For creams use a bit more cream for this kind of brush its HUGE thus requires a tiny bit more cream then your usually 22mm knot brushes the reward on the other hand is easy Lather for 4 passes !
if you use the same amount your used to with small brushes it could be a dissapointment but that largely depends also on the cream itself experience is the key but mostly I just use a bit more cream and who cares its great for clearing up my creams fast so I can buy more cream thats the whole point too isnt it ?

2- for Soaps load it up with a good amount of water dont go shaking too much water out of it if you leave plenty of it in the brush you will get exploding lather with any soap ! just give the brush a little 1-2 small shakes and your ready to go for the soap.

3- Awesome brush for Superlather I will not use any other brush for the moment for SuperLather its a killer for that then you get the best of both worlds .

Wow I had totally missed this thread about the chipper

that is some AWESOME Customer support of Kent ! this will certainly put them on the map of good company support also Fergie is DA MAN,

They really went out of their way, legally speaking its your own fault if you drop something that has nothing to do with manufact. mistakes or warranty but it is very weird that you'd get a chip like that these handles should easy take some abuse but dropping it on a candle ? is not one of it. dropping it on pavement or hard concrete floors yes.sorry to say its your own fault.

good show !

Great looking brush ....is it me or should I say just apply some bondo to the hand el and sand it down , or better yet maybe cut off the handle at the next ridge and replace with some exotic material . Hey who knows ? Any thought s ?
