This vintage shaving stick has an unbelievably rich lather, and a classic "old-school" scent, and such soothing skincare--what a pity that it's extinct now. I use it once every couple of months to make it last as long as possible! ;) :D

I know Thomas (DragonBoy) grabbed another great (vintage) Swedish shaving stick recently, a Hega! (I wasn't at home so I couldn't snipe it from him ;) ).

I'm not dead certain on the history, but I think there is a connection between Barnängen and Hega/Gahns. If I have understood it correctly, Hega was a trademark of Barnängen at some time, but then, I could also be wrong.

Well, we are probably both watching ice-hockey right now... and I will NOT make any comments on the results.. The only thing I have to say that the final is played over 7 games ;)

EDIT: Here is a thought, hosting a traditional Swedish Midsummer, with all the trimmings ;) Drinking akvavit until you can't standup is one of the main ingredients :D

Well, ya know, it's funny, the only DE I can get consostently great shaves with is the Merkur Progress but it's dull using only one razor. So after I figured out my skin-irritation-problem with straights (just by using Somersets Oil as preshave) I switched to using straights nearly exclusively - and, guess what, 95% of all shaves are great - and the variety is back, too :happy088

The BK8 is guest appearing at work this week and will return home this weekend. The Kent soap is a little tougher to lather up correctly but once you do, you should be pleased.

First run with the IK soap today. It produced an interesting lather – kind of a mix between a traditional soap lather and lotion. It firmed up nicely in my Moss scuttle and produced a nice, cushiony second pass lather. Nice subtle and inoffensive fragrance also…

Result: 4.6/5.0 A number 1 shave. Keep the C&E soap coming because it never fails me. It will be a real shame when I run out of the Sweet Almond Oil but I like the other scents decides to cut costs and reformulate the soap.

Nobody has it in stock anymore except maybe Appleton Barber Supply and you have to call them and ask them to check the stock manually because it is not in the system inventory. A retailer returned a case and it was never returned to main stock because once they're gone, that's it. History. Lucky Tiger has been doing this to a number of items lately. I like their Correct Way and 3 Purpose w/oil Hair Tonics.

Yes, GFT mostly is Glycerin and Rosewater, it would be good stuff (if it were a lot cheaper).

I've used Nivea Sensitive AS Balm as a preshave -- it works just as well as the Trumper skin foods (IMO...).
