The Tabac soap stick is wonderfull.

You need very little on your face ,just wet the stick rub it all over your face
then take a warm/hot brush filled with water not too much but not too little
start rubbing it over your face. instant Volume of lather everywhere. enough for 2 good full passes without the need for re-applying the stick to the face so a stick will last you a year easily when you have it in rotation.
I use superlather with the Tabac soap stick.and a custom made for you honey and milk soap I bought once from a lady in the UK.

I havent tried the Tabac soap Bowl.

Tabac soap is outstanding, as are all the MamaBear soaps I've tried.

I only wish Tabac offered the shave sticks in the US.

I love the Tabac.

I've also recently tried out some Honeybee soaps and I like them quite a bit.

Agreed. I actually ordered two of them from my last Westons.com order, but only after I opened the package did I realize that a single "order" of Erasmic shave stick, is a 3-pack. I ordered 2 3-packs, so now I have *6* Erasmic shave sticks!!

It's kind of  though... more stuff to share/trade/sell/give away!! ;)

I forgot to mention, I used to shave with Tabac soap in the bowl a long time ago when it was available here in Montreal, and I very much enjoyed it. I never did try the stick version of Tabac.

The Tabac soap is great stuff......haven't tried any of Mamma Bears Soaps as delivery costs from the US are high. Wool Fat soap is reasonably inexpensive over here.....and of course ERASMIC!!

Mmm, love Tabac. Mamabear's stuff is pretty good, though I want to order some new stuff, preferably her more mono/dual-scent offerings rather than the complex scents I currently have from her. I also want to try that Woolfat, but most places in the US that sell it are frickin expensive (the refill less so than the ceramic container version, but still).

Have you checked into that "Kent" soap seller on ebay? From what I understand, it is the exact same soap, at a lesser price.

Wool Fat soap

Is this the name of a soap or are you speaking of a lanolin based soap (or both).

hmmmm
hmmmm <--- that's the sound of the wheel turning!!

new shave soap recipe I've been thinking of may have a new path to test.

hmmmm
hmmmm

A simple and natural product, Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap is still made to Mr. Mitchell's original formula, based on a recipe from the turn of the century and incorporating lanolin from the wool fat as the key ingredient.

hmmmm
hmmmm

turn of the century recipe - reduces the number of oils which were available at that time - CHECK
lanolin - CHECK

now to find time to experiment!!

Cyndi

It is both. Produced in Yorkshire England. Kent sell it relabelled......but the original manufacturer (Mitchell's) sell it in a beautiful ceramic bowl. Absolutely full of lanolin. This is an excellent triple milled shaving soap with fantastic skin care.

Thanks Brian,

Triple milled, eh? That would be one long lasting bar of soap. It is in the milling process that excess moisture and glycerin is removed.

I will have to experiment with the amount of lanolin used. It does have a saponification factor, albeit low meaning there will be a lot that remains whole in the finished soap.

Tabac is one of the best classic shaving soaps out there and a great value to boot. It is good by itself but even better when 'kicked up a notch' by adding a little KMF Unscented or even priming the brush with some Honey Bee Bay Rum.

Tabac is one of the first soaps I would recommend to anyone just starting their wetshaving journey. Great stuff!

Tabac is indeed fine soap. And soon I'll learn the pleasures of MB Soaps. Anxiously awaiting delivery. ;)

I have one of those ordered and on its way. Looking forward to trying it out.

Tabac is one of those soaps I mean to try sometime. Once I work through my current inventory (including two fine MB soaps), like in two years or so. :happy108

I couldn't agree more. I don't use Tabac soap as much during the colder months though since it tends to leave my face drier than the MB soaps. Tabac lather is as good as it gets though, and you have to love that classic scent.
