The coate's buy has been fairly time consuming. We can certainly handle the administrative end of this, but we'd need a little bit of time to get most of the coate's group buy wrapped up.

I've made some changes to our store to make it a bit more efficient in handling group buys, which should help.

Thanks. I figured the TSD store would be a great way to handle things, considering it can offer different shipping methods, in addition to containing our normal offerings. Now that the changes are there it should streamline any group buys in the future.

Plus, once you register, there's no need to do it again, for store purchases, or group buys.

Ummm.....I don't think there are any savings. This is a special order from QED, and requires 50 soaps minimum to order the scent, Wild Rose, which Charles doesn't regularly carry.

Seeing this poor thread barely hanging on is just too sad. That minimum is looking pretty unattainable unless there's some outside help. The thread was started a few weeks ago, so I don't see a lot more orders in the near future.
I followed the progress regarding ordering this soap over at SRP a while ago, and I'm still confused about why it never came about. I know there was good interest from members, but then things got convoluted and they ended up ordering something else. Maybe soulshine can comment on the scent of that 'Sandalwood/Vetiver soap when he gets time.
I think there's already a built in audience over there for the wild rose soap, and that might be the place to offer the group buy. I'd think 30 tubs would be very doable, and everyone's happy. Oh.....except for the person who actually has to deal with shipping...etc. He (or she) may not be quite as happy as the rest.
Anyway, I'm afraid this is just gonna languish here, and it's too nice a soap for that to happen. Of course, the Boss is always gonna have the final say on how things work here, but I can't really see this deal coming together without another group joining us. Hehe, I know that whoever puts it together (if it happens at all) is in for a lot of work. I wouldn't mind kicking in something for the trouble...maybe a slightly used (somewhat bent) pocket fisherman. Actually, I would toss another $1-2 in on my order for all the effort needed.

I think remember some other forum that tried getting Charles to make a batch of EO Wild Rose failed, becouse the price for Rose Oil was insane. It ended up costing $50 or something a tub. Please, correct me if I am wrong.

Johan, all we need to do now is just wait. I think JoAnna is on vacation, so it will be a little bit yet, and there is also the wait while everybody else has a chance to order some. Once the tubs are ordered, we will have to wait for a month or so while Charles at QED makes the soap, and then with shipping and all that, we might have them by late June or early July.

As always, YMMV, but when we did the group buy of Violetta at B&B we ordered them in Nov. and got them early Jan.

Example:

1 lb. to Seattle $4.75
1 lb. 1 oz. to Seattle $7.95 :eek:

3.20 more for a freakin' ounce??? That ounce comes from their stupid box!

So, I have to stick all the 2 tub orders in envelopes to keep them under a pound. I don't like shipping in envelopes.

Upon opening the tub and taking a whiff of this soap, now I know why it is much-heralded and revered. I was so pleased with the Rose soap!
It was the closest scent to essential oil rose water I have found.
I should have known it was an FO but I was thinking it was an EO. Till I read here what it is.

A SUPER scent that I have used every shave since I received mine.
WELL DONE!
