Well,
I am a Rose scent lover....Kind of got hooked on rose products after trying them....and we have a rose garden in the back yard and I love the different rose scents...My wife really likes the rose scents too :)
Anyway, here is a bit of my thoughts on Rose products...
I like these creams, pretty much in this order..
TOOBS (Old Rose) Still have half a tub :D
Coates Rose
Trumper's Rose
TOOBS Rose (New Rose)
AOS Rose
I've tried the AOS Rose cream, bought it for my wife. I got her the one in the tub vs the pump bottle. The tub has the same consistency as the mens AOS creams...the scent is nice although is Very muted / faint compared to Coates, Trumpers, TOOBS...etc..The shave is on par with the rest of the mens AOS creams though.
I have tried all the Rose creams to my knowledge except for SCS and T&H, still need to pickup the T&H version.
I will buy the T&H Rose cream soon as Jim at Vintage Blades just started carrying it.
I really disliked the Salters Rose (Sold it after a couple uses) as the scent to me was horrid and had a distinct chemical smell to it and did not provide me with a good shave....YMMV
For Soaps, I have the TSD Victorian Rose soap that I got from JoAnna and it is Great, Excellent scent and lather :D. I also like QED Wild Rose, great scent and shave.. Trumpers Rose soap is nice but has to me a very muted scent and the lather always dries out on me???
I really wish Castle Forbes and D.R. Harris would do some rose versions of creams and soaps, there is clearly a market for these products :(
Perhaps, if all us rose lovers would start pestering these companies we could convince them into producing some more rose products for us..:)
Whats your favorite rose? Love to hear some more rose thoughts and opinions

Rene,
If you like Roses / rose scents and haven't tried one yet, the GFT Rose is a fantastic one to start with :D It was my first rose cream and got me hooked...some say it is a bit on the sweet side compared to other rose products and they are right...but it is a great scent, and for me provides a nice shave as well.
Hope you enjoy it and can't wait to hear your thoughts :)

I really like Rose scented creams too... don't use them as often as I should.
I never got the pleasure of trying the ToOBS (old formula) Rose, but I have a tub of their new formula. Very nice.
Still need to try the T&H Rose.. Gordon over at SMF says it's one of the best. I'm glad it's back in the USA to purchase soon.

I'm a fan of rose scented soaps and creams too. I just bought my wife Penhaligon's Elisabethan Rose EDT for her birthday. It's wonderful. I'm tempted to try it myself!:ashamed001

Going to have to whip up a lather later on with the Stubby 2

I wonder if QED Charles will make a rose version by itself to be a regular item number? I've heard a lot about the QED WIld Rose, but haven't had a chance to try it.
Might have to get the Rose Geranium.

Hi Dave,
Shoot Charles at QED an E-mail, The Wild Rose is not a regular offering yet, but it does seem like he has been producing it in small batches and may still have some available. :)

Thanks TG Charles :), can you describe the scent of this one? I haven't tried it before...
Is this a Soap? or Cream? how is the shave and scent strength?

Hi Austin,
How would you describe the scent of the T&H? compared to other roses you tried?
Thanks :D

MB's Attar Rose is a soap and it smells like a rose that is still a little green, not quite ready to bloom. Not over powering but not so mild that you wonder what it is. A bit unique, not like all the other rosey creams and soaps.
I hope that helps.

Hi Austin,
How would you describe the scent of the T&H? compared to other roses you tried?
Thanks :D
T&H is a rich scent. It is closer to a natural scent. Unlike Trumpers, it has a light color so that you are not concerned with it staining your brush.

Nice, Thank you....Would you say the strength of the scent is on par with TOOBS / Trumpers?
Thanks!
Austin

The scent is closer to Taylors. It is distinct. Trumpers is a bit more muted.

MB's Attar of Rose was too green for my tastes.
I haven't tried too many of the rose scents. Just Trumpers, MBs Attar of Rose, and TSD Rose Garden shaving creams. As for soaps I have tried QED Wild Rose, and TSDs.
No big preference to scent.

The only rose scent I have is QED Wild Rose, which I really like. I pair it up with Trumper's Coral Skin Food.
Jim @ Vintage Blades sent a sample of the T&H Rose with a shipment that arrived today. My wife took one sniff and claimed it for herself - she's always used canned goo but I suspect she's about to get spoiled.
I've never tried any of the Rose creams or soaps, wished I'd added a Taylor's to this order.

Unfortunately Forbes won't make a Rose as they only use essential oils in there creams. For a Rose absolute cream they would have charge £60 a pot.

Paul
The only rose scent I have tried is Tryphon cream. This scent intrigues me and I am looking forward to trying some others.
Warm regards,
Dale

Thanks Paul :),
Well, if they were smart they would make an exception to the rule as other vendors like QED have done in the past as there is clearly a market.....
I guess if they make enough money off their existing line of 3 creams...that's good enough for them. ;)

I've tried rose shaving creams from the following; Coates, ToOBS, and Tryphon's Rose. At the price of Tryphon's Rose, and quality, it's the best deal for me. I'm looking forward to trying T&H Rose. The only rose soap I've tried is QED Wild Rose.

I now have tried the QED Wild Rose, TSD Victorian Rose, and TSD Rose Garden. They are all very, very good, yet different. So, part of my rose ritual has become the night before sniffing which one I want to try....I know I'm sick.:D
I have a Dr's appt. tomorrow so I might have to pick up a Trumper's rose cream at Easton in Columbus....and some coral skin food.

I am sure it is not EO but none of the rose creams are (not that I have found).
Tryphon smells nice but not very strong, I like it.

Hey Doc, now that you mention it..Rose EO is pretty much out of the question for anything remotely affordible...
It is a nice scent I don't like to be bowled over with a lather scent...It enhances the shave experience tho...
I am glad that most/all lather scent isn't long lasting cause of a conflict with edt and such.

The only rose product I've used is TSD Rose Garden S/S and the Trumpers Rose S/C sample. Both with great rose scents! Personally I prefer Lilac though, I can see myself "go floral". Love the smell of citrus flowers and have long thought of trying to catch that scent somehow...

Giovanni has a new cream you might like to check out: It's called Mayfair (http://www.razorandbrush.com/barberiacreams.html)
"Spring Orchard blossoms create a fresh and soothing scent in this distinctive new cream. The sweet perfume of orange blossoms complements the jasmin basenote and the scent of cherry blossoms and other Springtime florals. Wonderfully soothing formula, with natural rose water and no Parabens. Contains Castor oil, Coconut oil and vegetable glycerin."
I'll have some shortly and will give a scent report :happy005

I picked up a tube of GFT rose. I really like it, and it is a sweet smelling rose. It seems to take more water than most other creams, however. Not that this is a bad thing, it just takes a little more water.

Many thanks Isaac!
The weak on the scent thing, leaves me to believe I will pass on this one, I have heard it was weakly scented.....now if you find the performance to be spectacular I may have to re-think it.
Thanks for taking one for the team :)

Hey guys. The Sorceress ebay store Stock a triple rose shaving soap. Its 3 rose essential oils, not fragrance. They cost STG£3.99 plus packaging for about 100g The sellers name is jch31hawk. Got some last week.... tried the others Trumpers, T&H all smelled like washing powder compared to this. I think the shipping to the US may make this expensive..... for once we win for living in Europe.
Check it out for yourselves.

I just used the T&H Rose sample yesterday and I like it very much. I am not a big rose fan, but this one could end up in the rotation.
