Similar stories to this have been told before but its nice to be reminded how wonderful wet shaving properly is.

Last night, just for a change I pulled out my old Wilkinson Sword FX diamond and a can of shaving gel from a can.
My thoughts as I lathered up with foaming gel on my hands were
How do I get a second pass from this stuff
What a mess, I'm going to have to wash my hands.
This stuff really stinks bad.

I put a new blade (I had some left over before switching to a DE) on the razor. It wouldn't stay attached to the handle despite there being nothing wrong with the handle or blade.
I eventually managed to shave a little of one side with the blade falling off twice. At that point the smell and frustration got to me and I washed off all of the gel, filled the sink with fresh water and started again with an Edwin Jagger Super badger brush, some body shop shaving cream and my slim adjustable razor, and finally had a pleasant wonderful shave.

I think we all go through that from time to time. You see the stuff laying around and you wonder if the shaves were really that bad......or......you're in a hurry and grab it. It's a whole different skill level and sometimes it's a disaster. The shave just never feels the same as a brush lather and a DE or a straight. I guess we just have to remind ourselves from time to time. :D

Its true. Sometimes you just have to wonder if this wetshaving that we've become obsessed with is well worth it. I went to a spa over my winter recess from school for a good ol' over prices massage by some girl that might as well have been a play boy model. That in it self was worth it. Besides the point though. After my massage and relaxing in the steam room for a bit I thought my beard was in tip top shape for a good shave... but what am I going to shave with? I made my way to the sink and saw that there were some single edged bic disposables and a can of barbasol. I figured what the hell. I gave my self a one pass shave and it truely wasn't that bad. On the otherhand it was nowhere near as close of a shave as I get with a DE and there is no way im going to sit there and start doing multiple passes with barbasol because thats just way to messy to deal with. So for a one pass, feel like I got my moneys worth, somewhat smoothe but not so close shave it was okay. Atleast now I feel like my SAD and RAD are well worth it.

I really left everything behind Bronco ,im at the next stage level.
If I want fast shave I can do it with a DE I dont need lying around BICs or M3's for that. I dont even know why people keep it around throw it away , I just converted a collegeau at work to wetshaving and he uses the Canned Foam by de Verguldehand ok it might be a bit better then the edge Gel because its VGH but I adviced him nonetheless to ditch it and go Brush/Bowl from the beginning.

If your really pressed for time for a quick shave , I rather choose NOT to shave and save the moment for the night when I return but that is if you can get away with it, I usually look pretty good the next day and can get away with light stubble look my job also doesnt careless if im shaved or not.

I shaved today with my DublDuck goldedge, Rooney Stubby2, and QED Violetta.....there is nothing in the canned shave cream world that smells as wonderful as the soaps we all crave and enjoy:D
