1) Classic Match (Aramis clone) -- I like pairing that with QED's Cypress ASC. The cypress EO has a very nice earthy, smokey scent. It adds a lot of depth to the overall layering.
2) Musgo Real AS -- use this alone usually; why mess with it?
3) L'Occitane Vetyver -- usually mix it up with their CADE products.
4) Guerlain Vetiver -- had a sample that I enjoyed, but didn;t get to experiment much with it.

perhaps i am one of the few gents who actually does not enjoy this scent. i find it absolutely horrible. :D when i received a vetiver soap i actually opened it later in the day to confirm how much i did not care for it.

I like Vetyver but the QED version is waaaaay strong. No skimping on scent oils there.

I was getting curious why nobody had mentioned Floris vetiver yet. I got a sample of it with my last Vintage Blades order and liked it, although it doesn't seem to last very long.

I don't have any basis for comparison to other vetivers, wondered how this one stacked up.

I tried a spritz at the local Sephora -- the Guerlain Vetiver Extreme is very nice (albeit a little pricey). I like it better than the original Guerlain Vetiver.

And on me the scent stays all day. It's one of my top three scents. Obviously, YMMV is true here.

QED vetiver soap
QED vetiver/sandalwood soap (i got over at SRP)

colognes:
Floris Vetiver
Floris Santal
Trumper Sandlewood

These seem to work pretty well with the whole smoky aroma of the QED vetiver.

TSD forum really runs the gamuts of personal care topics. I don't use a lot of cologne so even a small bottle lasts me a long time. Too long, in fact. I'd rather have a lot of different scents, but I don't want to clutter my bathroom and I don't want to spend a ton of money. I've seen a few websites where decant shops promise to send sample-sizes of cologne. Can they be trusted to sell on the real thing? Do you recommend any vendors in particular?

I like Vetiver, especially for the spring and summer. However, I find that the two that I have, Guerlain and L'Occitane, fade within 2-3 hours. They are now stashed in my offices for quick spritzes during the day. Can anyone recommend a vetiver with more staying power?

I'm not kidding.

If you have both, try it.

+ Patchouli = Musgo Real Aftershave. :D

Does anyone make a soap or cream with this pairing, as I love the smell of their AS, and their cream, while great, smells different.
