I found this while looking for a larger medicine cabinet... Might be the perfect way to hide my acquisition disorder...

Actually it looks pretty nice, and like I could make it. Maybe I could have this in addition to my mirror cabinet. (I need my mirror)

now that is cool :D

Only downside is that I'd need 20 of them to hide my stash :rofl

Just line the hallway and put family portraits in them! I wonder when they'll come out with a digital frame?

That's a really cool idea, although too expensive to use in any quantity, in my opinion. This actually seems like it would be fairly easy to build. hmmmm....

Should be rather easy to replace the door on this (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=23881-336-X4311&lpage=none) with something a bit more attractive. Doesn't have adjustable shelves though. But for $12, might be worth considering. I does seem a rather nice idea!

My thoughts exactly. Easy to build, yeah, but with our european houses very difficult to implement. Full-brick-walls all the way :D

How about a false wall that stands off a bit. You could put other nooks on it as well, kind of like on a rolltop desk.

We have an extra cabinet just mounted on our bathroom wall. I'm thinking when we do our addition, we can have something like this put in, maybe adding a magnetic latch/lock to keep curious little fingers safe from my sharps. Also perhaps a shadowbox for displaying razors, instead of a picture frame. It could have a double layer door to store supplies behind it.

Ok, dream time is over. Time to get back to work. :)

So I saw this thread the other day and I aboslutely loved the hidden medicine cabinet that company is selling. I was totally going to buy it, but then you guys inspired me to try to make it myself. I took an old medicince cabinet and removed the door and I took a picture frame and tried to reattach it. Well, it turns out its way more trouble than I thought. I'm talking a complete mess. In the end, I had to hang a picture over the medicine cabinet with the doors off. Now I slide it to the side whenever I want to get something out which, of course, is starting to scrape the paint on the wall. Anyway, let me know if anyone here ends up making it. In the meantime, thanks for the link. I'm definitely buying it.

It's not a bad idea for the bedroom. It would be good way to hide a firearm.

Welcome to The Shave Den Oliver! Don't feel too bad, we all have our ups and downs. Perhaps a trip to the hardware store for some advice on hinges would be helpful as well as having a solid backing on the picture frame.

Yup, you need those hidden cabinet hinges. I wish I knew what they were called

Thanks to all the welcomers!

Austin,

Good call on the firearms. It seems your not the first to think of this. There's pictures of a customer using their cabinet to hide guns on the testimonials page of the site. Very cool!
