My dear friends,

I was in a drugstore yesterday to buy a few things, so I thought I'd pass by the shaving section and look around a little, not that I saw anything that I wanted or needed, but I did notice that there were perhaps 2 more Florena shaving creams left. On the other hand, I saw a LOT of Nivea shaving cream tubes on the same shelf, and I read on one of those tubes that it said "Formerly known as Florena Men" My personal view and opinion is, Florena is a much more enjoyable cream than Nivea, but that's me. I guess that Beiersdorf, the producer of Nivea, which has an office here in Montreal really took over the entire line that Florena created.

Is there any opinion of this being good or bad for their shave line?
I have a tube of Florena that I've not tried..Nivea is well spoken of in the skin care line.

Performancewise, they are similar; similar formlations.

The only 2 differences :

-Nivea doesn't stink like Florena
-Nivea's packaging is better (which is not important, as long as a cream perfoms well)

I CANNOT confirm that! Over here in Europe Florena is stille widely available and nothing indicates that it's gonna be discontinued soo. It's gotta be a Canadian thing ;)

I really like Nivea. My grandfather used to shave using a Nivea cream, a beat-up boar brush and a Gillette Adjustable (a Slim-Handle I think). Funny enough, my uncles tried to convince him to switch to disposables. The old man was reluctant for a long time. Now, that he's older (92 years old) and finds it difficult to shave, he uses disposables. Still, he always complains about them.
It wouldn't bother me too much if they replace Florena with Nivea.

Klaus, I swear to you, my bro--at least here in Canada Nivea took over the Florena line.

I'm gonna double-check after work today. Got a supermarket next to where I work and I'll see what they've got :D
