I restored and sold this Puma last night. It was in rough shape but I thought it deserved a second chance.
This is the before shot.

You know, one of these days, you guys are going to push me just a little too far and I'll actually try to USE one of my straights. I picked up half a dozen or so at a few antique shops, but I have NO IDEA what to do with them.
Bill Ellis looked at the pics and said most were usable, thought one not so much. I just have no clue how to sharpen, hone, strop or any of those other things that need to be done. One of these days, maybe I'll figure it out.
They look so cool...and I have to admit, it would be fun to tell people I shave with a straight.

Michael, you crack me up! You certainly have a wealth of information at your disposal to get you started right here in our little ol' Den. All you need is a few more toys (waterstone, strop, etc.) and the desire to learn. Heck, if I can do, anyone can.

VERY well done on the restore.
You have every reason to be proud
That's a pretty spiffy looking job. One more razor brought back from the dead. How cool is that?

I'm sure you have rescued worse. This one did feel special when I worked on it. I debated on removing the initials and scratched in numbers thinking they have been a service ID. But giving it a new life won out.

If you wrote down the number, you can find out who it was and when he served. That could be interesting, for sure.
