Keep the least little bit of pressure on the blade. That's a lesson I've relearned recently.
Over that last few weeks, I could get BBS on every part of my face with my straight except under the chin. I realized that I was using more and more pressure under the chin.
So, I lightened up on my pressure during the entire shave. I basically just used my hand as a guide and stabilizer for the razor and let the blade actually do the work.
Result: a much more comfortable and smoother shave over the entire face and especially under the chin where I obtained BBS results once again.
It sometimes seems counterintuitive to use less pressure to achieve a closer shave but it works.
