Well they finally released the title for the next Bond movie. Normally this isn't that big of a deal but I figure it is Bond and that should mean something extra.

Then I heard the title and honestly I am not sure what to think of it.

Ready for it?

The new Bond movie is called "Quantum of Solace".

Yeah.. I have to think this one over before I decide whether I like it or not.. it is just so... different.

Well, "Goldeneye" isn't really intuitive either, I guess it'll all make sense once you watch the movie...

At least that movie had a Bond connection, Ian Flemming's home in Jamaica was called GoldenEye.

So, Scott Bakula is the new Bond? Oh, wait - that was Quantum Leap :rofl

I'm not so sure I like this title either. What's the the storyline?

Storyline from what has been said so far is that the film will be a direct sequel (the first direct Bond Sequel ever) to Casino Royal and deal with Mr. White's Organization/Vesper Lind's death. Rumour also has it that Vesper's kidnapped boyfriend will be involved too.

Maybe something to be found here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_Your_Eyes_Only#.22Quantum_of_Solace.22) or here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_of_Solace) :p (Seems it wasn't as far fetched as one could think, even this has a Flemming legacy...)

Yeah I read later that it was an Ian Fleming title from something else. Still.. it sounds odd for a Bond Title.

Or even Live and Let Tomorrow Never Say Die in the The Golden Quantum of Solace - Royale... :p

Or is that OTT?

I still like the older ones. Sean Connery was da man. Certainly not PC but that was then.

Best Bond Girl for me was Jane Seymour as Solitaire in "Live and Let Die."
I have to give honorable mention to Halle Berry as Jinx in "Die Another Day."

I wasn't born at the time, but the all time Bond Girl, IMHO, is Ursula Andress, the one they all aspire to surpass...

Can't remember where I was reading it... I think it was the director talking about where the series would be going.

He was mentioning that no one is really wowed anymore by exotic locales (as travel is a lot easier now than in the past) and we're inundated with huge effects and all that (not that there won't be any) and the only place left to go is inward, to delve into Bond's mind and why he is the way he is and how he came to be that way.

Anyway... title certainly sounds like it will have some overtones related to that, I for one and looking forward to it :)

Hi All, Just a goofy little story about the Bond flicks: I remember seeing Dr No when it was first in the theaters, and things were a bit different then. At that time (60's) the normal thing was to offer a 'double feature'. Lots of times there would be the 'A' movie, followed by a lesser quality flick. Yep, two movies was what almost all the theaters offered for one price. Hehe, sometimes even a triple feature, but that was a loooong day. Anyway, Dr No was making it's screen debut, but there was one interesting thing about it you'll find amusing. It was considered the 'add on' to the 'better' movie shown before it. Yeah........no one had ever heard of Ian Fleming or James Bond. Hehe, of course, things changed a bit after that first Bond movie. Millions of people read the books, and it became what it is today. I was 13 when I saw it and HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing sleeper of a movie if ever there was one. It was such a kick seeing something like that on the screen., especially having never even suspecting what it would be like. Ok, done with my geezer moment, Martin Oh, on another note, I can't get the punctuation to behave. Somethings screwed up here.
