View Full Version : Wade & Butchers Olive rescale

Finished this over the weekend. It's a heavy weight and a hair popper. Scales are Olive wood with an Ebony spacer, brass pins and bearings. Finish is CA.

Tried to get this done so I could photograph with some day light....but... oh, and please excuse the dust...:D

Great flow, nice lines, and a perfect balance to the style of that blade. Lots of folks that dabble in restoration don't quite get the grasp of this aspect involving blade/scale compatibility. Understanding wood the way you do, I would not have expected any less out of you. Excellent work.

Now all we gotta do is train you that if you decide on a mirror finish... ALL the scratches in the blade have to come out... ;)

Yeah, it's amazing what the camera brings out, but the camera doesn't lie.

Excellent job matching the blade with the scales. They complement one another very well, and that's a beautiful piece of wood.
