I've been using the same ziploc disposable storage bowl for a couple yeras now. For me, it's been a perfect lather bowl. I use this one bowl everyday.
Today, something weird happened. The bowl is a nice sky blue color, but when it gets cold it turns deep violet. Violet like it's supposed to be that color. As long as the entire bowl is cold, the entire thing changes, without a single remnant of the original blue. I reach down and pick it up, and anywhere my skin touches turns blue.... This is just freaky.
My favorite bowl is making me thing about using it now.

Maybe you should get a geiger counter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geiger_counter) ;)

Now that is.. odd..
Really though unless your 3rd arm is bothering you I wouldn't worry too much. :D

I know they make children's cups that do the same type of thing. Pour cold milk or something cold in it and it changes colors.
If the shaving cream/soap is a good product, I wouldn't think it's a problem.
Now, if the bowl starts to deteriorate, find another bowl ;)

Shouldn't that be, if the bowl starts to deteriorate, find another shaving soap or cream. :rofl

It just baffles me that it developed this trait after years of use.

You need a nice ceramic bowl ... and a coffee mug warmer. Awesome lather, and WARM too!! Turn on the warmer when you wake up and by the time you're ready to shave, it's nice and warm.

THis is totally understandable...Your befuddlement...NOT the color changing.
I, A LOOOOONG TIME AGO, would sit in front of a Jimmy Hendriks poster under the obligatory UV lamp and watch the colors change....Ah yes! The colors!
I still think it was a government sponsored experiment...I did get pink eye from it and was laid up with bandaged eyes for a bit..
But ... OH THE COLORS!!

funny, i am using the same bowl for soaking my brush, I face lather though. I have not noticed mine changing colors... Then again I soak in warm water. Did it just start doing this, or has it done it all along?

I use a "salsa cooler" to keep my lather warm.

It just started. I've been using it for years, and then all of a sudden..... hypercolor.

are you sure you don't live near an atomic test-zone, Bobby?
Or maybe aliens abducted your lather-bowl over the night :D

The thought has certainly crossed my mind. The bowl was with me for a while in Hiroshima. Come to think of it, that wasn't long before "the change" :ashamed001

Well, Bobby, your best bet is to test it with a Geiger counter :D
