OK.
Right....
Ive been at this nonsense for about 2 years now and had tried many, many different products.
Ive traded and swapped, bought and donated more goodies than anyone should have a right to :o
My shavery is at a very happy place right now and I dont know what, if anything, I could add to it to improve it.
Not complaining.
Just thinking out loud, is all........

This is just my opinion Rick. I would recommend that you get a sampler pack from either West Coast Shaving or Razor and Brush of blades. The number of different brands of blades you have tried is a little on the narrow side. Right at the moment I have tried a new brand of blade for me called Tiger and its doing great, my favorite is the 7am brand. Again this is my opinion for what its worth.

I think hes talking more generalized..as far as soaps/creams and what nots.

Well... I'm in the same position right now.
I've tried (most of) everything I've wanted to try, I've got so much stuff at home - more than 20 years worth as far as shaving creams and soaps are concerned and more than 10 years on blades (lifelong if you also count the straights)
My aftershaves will last another 5 years together, I have bath soap for 2 years.
I know how to get great shaves now, I've found the products that work for me and those that don't. I don't feel any desire to buy anything more for quite some time.
Alone using up all the samples I have would take me half a year...

My shavery is at a very happy place right now and I dont know what, if anything, I could add to it to improve it.
Exactly my opinon :)

My opinion is that you have pretty much run the gamut on cream and soaps.

That's where I'm at. I'm enjoying it. I have one area left to really pursue and that is str8. No hurry, I have a bunch of years left. I think a number of us on here have the same issue Rick. So, enjoy. Pull out a pipe, have a drink, roast some beans, take a long hot shower and treat your self to a BBS shave.

I know what you mean Rick. I started off with a pair of Merkur's that really did not shave me well. Then I found this forum, found a razor that really does great on me and managed to trade for a whole shave den full of them. Those that have heard me shoot my mouth off in the past know which razor that is. Although I do keep a Gillette Speedway which I use on ocasion.

enjoy what you have now for that is how you got here. Here is the place where all your shaves are good every single time.

I am also there, the only difference is that I am making my own soaps. That is a lot of fun. But as far as the road I traveled to get to this happy place, I would not change a thing...well maybe just one...:D

Funny you should mention this. Depending on the circumstances of my travel, I occasionally take a cartridge razor and a can of foamy shave cream with me. The other day I ordered a can of Gillette’s new "Barber Shop Clean" foamy shaving cream. I’m going to check it out and see if it’s suitable for using while I’m on travel.

I use the canned shaving cream for tons of stuff. It's a great cleaner when used in conjunction with a toothbrush. I also use it with a little h2o on my water stones. It keeps the razor sucked to the stone and it helps keep them clean at the same time. I have also used it sparingly as a strop conditioner and cleaner on my less-than-valuable strops.

If ya got all the materials you need for hair removal, then it's time to start adding ambiance... things like nicely framed barber ads, authentic signs, poles, and chairs. Dig through some old National Geographic magazines at your local antique store and find the ads you want. Hang 'em on the wall next to the barber pole brush stand you know how to make now. Shape up... start thinkin', man. .......... *cheesy*:D

Ive often heard about this...but didnt want to use it on my coticule or Norton fearing some sort of staining of the stones by any type of lather.

Hmm, took the wife's car to the annual service this morning, seems it needs at least 2 new tires... :( Well, $695 was too steep anyway :p

I got hit with that last year. $600+ a set. I have to have decent tires since I haul horses.

I'm with you Rick. Stuff on my wish list still has a lot to go. I forget about the #195. I'm going to concentrate on Triple Milled top end soaps for a while.
