All I own is a C&E BBB and I am looking to spend a little birthday money (but not too much $) on a new brush, and was looking for some input from you guys.

I hear SR's are great brushes and I know Baloosh has given the 3124 in Silvertip a rave review. I'm looking for other's opinions.

I am hoping the price is not much more than $100. Opinions?

I'd like the brush to be soft, ,not scritchy...but I don't want it to be floppy either...it should have some good backbone - firm. I don't know the dimensions of the C&E BBB, but I wouldn't want the new brush to be any smaller...not overbearingly large, but not smaller either. I suppose it doesn't have to be silvertip, but maybe something better than "best"...is silvertip all it's cracked up to be??? I don't know...you guys tell me.

Hope to hear from as many of you out there willing to chime in! Thanks guys.

Having recently acquired a Kent BK4, I can highly recommend it! It is a little bigger than the C&E brush, and is softer, yet still pretty firm. I would not call it floppy at all. Good brush, and a nice handle. Or get the BLK4 if you want the black handle to contrast the ivory of the C&E brush! ;)

Do you like to build lather in a bowl or on your face ?
I've never tried a SR brush so I cannot comment on them but I will say this:

If you like the C&E BBB you will love the Kent BK4.
Its a great dual purpose brush ; better at building lather in a bowl but adequate for face lathering.
If you are looking for something different (Dense and fan shaped= great for on the face action) I would definately suggest a Rooney Super.
Both the BK4 and the Rooney Super(small) can be found for about $75

That's the SR in a nutshell. You won't be disappointed.

If you're open to other brushes as options, there are some great recommendations in this thread from others as well.

I bought a SR 3126 for my Christmas present to myself. When I called Charles at QED to place the order, he spent 45 minutes talking about his brushes. I can only tell you I am completely satisfied with my choice.
