quite honestly, the Egyptian version of Palmolive menthol is as cooling as the Italian version, it has a hell of a nice lather, and it leaves the skin feeling cool and soothed, but the scent is not really for me. I find the Sputnik blade a little aggressive as well. :(

Weleda AS Balm

The Weleda Shaving Cream was a real dissapointment. The lather was thin and dry so I had to whip up a batch of Tabac halfway through the 2nd pass. Much smoother! And I didn't really enjoy the scent of the Weleda Shaving Cream either. But the Weleda AS Balm was very nice! Very interesting how two products of the same brand/line can appear so completely different :rolleyes:

WAY too potent. Today, I "dumbed" it down by pouring the aftershave in one hand, then gathered cold water in the other hand........rubbed the two hands together. Magic. Great product used in this manner, with a great scent. Goes with the scent of Florena very well.)

Watch-of-the-day: Seiko Quartz Dive Watch with red/blue color rotating bezel. I think I bought this watch around 1980. Heavy stainless steel body, good to 150 meters, this watch is built like a tank. A person could drive nails with this thing!

Brilliant shave today. Dialed the adjustable all the way up to 9 for two passes - no weepers, nicks , or cuts, and no irritiation. The Dorco is that gentle.

The Boellis SS is a real gem. You know Cella or Valobra Almond? This soap is quite similar but better. It's easier to lather and the lather is even more stable. The soap has a very fine almond scent.

Two Observations:
1. The Krona is my only razor and until further notice, will continue to be. Despite my sensitive skin, I get BBS shaves with very little irritation. I don't have to shave slowly and be deliberate. I just go. I'll still look at the pretty pictures of razors for sale but I know what I've got at home. :drool

2. After using a Feather blade for almost a week, it took a while to get used to a Super+ blade again. I had to do five passes and touchup with the Super+ to get the same results as three passes with the Feather. :o

Result: 3.8/5.0 The Mama Bear soap lacked cushion and glide. I fooled around with the water/soap ratio but it still lacked some performance which was quickly evident when the Feather ACD-N gave me two tiny weepers and then to add insult to injury, the Merkur gave me a weeper. They dried up in seconds but still. I squirted some Kiss My Face Unscented into the bowl with the Mama Bear and bingo. Instant decent lather and no more weepers. It's 2 hours later and the Ogallala Bay Rum Aftershave is still going strong.

Klaus have you ever tried the Swedish Gillettes? id advice those blades for you and not mess around with too many brands. only down side is I have never been able to find a bulk deal on those.
