I dont know how many of you have ever seen the show on MTV, My Sweet 16. This show is ridiculous. I dont know why I watch it, but its like a car accident....i must :rofl

This show basically shows us whats wrong with America today. Sixteen year old kids....getting eighty thousand dollar cars...spending over one hundred thousand on a party. OMG :eek:

Never seen it, but I think for the most part it sounds like it takes the few kids with parents that have enough money to afford those type of things, and presents it as the norm.

Yes, kids have more money today than when most of us grew up, but come on, no way.

Ummmm........well yeah. Kids don't usually have money of their own, except through their parents. Which makes it their parents money. :rolleyes:

HA!!! I stopped watching TV altogether just over 4 years ago. I do not miss it at all. As a matter of fact, my life is much better and clearer now... But I won't go too far into this.... not here anyway.

I don't watch tv by myself, and I hardly ever turn on the tv myself.

It's just a distraction, and I don't care for it really.

I watch in spurts. I'll go thru periods where I watch quite a bit; cooking shows (though mostly, that was when I was trying to learn HOW to), History Channel, some Discovery, an occasional sports event (all of the baseball post season, the TdF, maybe a football game - though I doubt I've watched more than 1Q in total this season). Haven't had ESPN on in forever (though I do listen to M&M radio on the way to work...Golic is great. Greenberg's a twerp!).

Lately, I doubt I've turned on the TV in the past month or more. Was gonna watch the Pats/Giants 16-0 game, but forgot it was on! :D Will probably watch the Super Bowl if someone will remind me it's on - and tell me who's playing.

When the boys lived here, I was occasionally subjected to the MTV trash, but they've been gone for a while now and I've somehow managed to avoid it. :rolleyes:

DiscussIt's a really, really weird show. I've seen it a few times, and it is like a car wreck.

It's not just the money, it's how unbelievably spoiled those kids are. And some of them seem to have no respect whatsoever for their parents. I understand that they are teenagers and of course want to distance themselves from their parents (as most teenagers do at some point), but seriously... hurling abuse at your parents when you don't get exactly what you want all the time is taking it a bit too far.
