Well, I've been using this T3 every day since around Christmas and getting familiar with it. It's a very curvaceous brush as you can see from the picture - and because of that, the top tends to bump into the inside of my bowl when I'm mixing up creams...

... so I have modified my lathering motions to allow for its Jane Mansfield-like contours. Still, I thought that face-lathering might be the best solution for this problem and I have been doing that fairly often, with soaps and creams. There are two things that stood out for me when doing this.
The first is that this 2 band badger is quite firm but not scratchy or unpleasantly scrubby. I was expecting something a bit uncomfortable after reading about the qualities of 2 band badger, but this is very nice. My Rooney 3/1 and Shavemac 429 are good for face lathering but in a different way - luxurious rather than invigorating.
The second thing is, the handle of the tulip fits into your hand much better when face lathering than when whipping up lather in a bowl. It feels like what I expect one of those gear-shift-knob Shavemacs to be like. It locks right into your hand and really lets you go to town on your face.
I imagine the PJ series or Emperors must be similar, due to their handle shapes. I am spoiled by the Simpson, and if this brush continues its practice of not shedding a single hair, I will probably end up like Dr. P one day. It will just take me longer since I'm pretty sure I'm not in the same income bracket. :D
