That's right, I've designated today National Rude Day.
Bear with me a few minutes, I need to get this out.
Some of you know it's been a tough week for me, battling Comcast to keep my Internet connection up, the cold from almost a week and a half ago went to my chest, had to go to the doctor, the weather was not typical Florida, into the 20's Wednesday night, 40's last night, I have not been out of the house since Monday. Today, the sun is shining, I feel better, I decided to get out for awhile. I've sold a few things, needed to go to the PO and go by Wally World to pick up a few things for the dogs. That was five hours ago.
The PO had only one window open with 17 people in front of me but I needed to do this. I had everything ready, customs forms, confirmation forms, everything! Why do people go to the PO with items not in a box or envelope or any forms filled out? The clerk was not rude, admirable, +1. One hour later I arrived at Wally World and parked in a handicap spot, yes I have a sticker.
I don't use it very often, maybe one in 30 times but today I felt I needed to use it. I was approached by an elderly gentleman wanting to know why I was taking a handicap parking spot from someone like him. I explained that I had a valid sticker, he went into a rant (I won't use his language here) and said he was calling the police. I went ahead inside and left him dialing his cell phone. The place was packed and I was promptly run into by a lady and her cart coming down the middle aisle. She proceeded to yell at me in French Creole, I picked out enough words to know she was being rude and told her so. She kept following me throughout the store, she was rude.
I came out of the store and sure enough there was a "police helper" in one of their special cars blocking me in.
He demanded to know who's handicaped sticker I was using. I explained mine and of course even with his limited powers he can check, did so and discovered that it was mine and valid. He demanded to know why a young fellow like me needed a handicap sticker. I explained that it was really none of his business. He was rude. The sheriffs deputy that pulled in to check what was going on was not. +2
As I was leaving the area a Fed Ex truck sideswiped my van, nice little crease. The driver was rude, his supervisor on the phone was not. +3. Neither was the deputy who was right behind me when I was sideswiped, same deputy, I'll give him another +(4).
I'm home safe and sound now from what should have been about an hours outing.
I'm going to take a nap now.
