I was reorganizing my gear today, and when I picked up my tube of proraso (aka C.O. Bigelow), the top broke. The threaded part remains on the tube, but the surround comes off, leaving the cream inside completely exposed. This is the third time this has happened to me. How hard could it be for these guys to make a lid that works.

I actually dump my tubed-creams into tubs......for reasons like this.

I hate tubes :D

I'm the exact opposite. I like keeping the cream off my hands before I smear it all over my face and end up getting it on my hands.

I found that when squeezing out of the tube, the "squeezed-portion" is much harder to work with.....than if you had gathered the cream by dipping/swirling a brush in a tub.

I don't like cream on my hands either ;)

I've had two tubes of Proraso and one tube of Erasmic all have their caps broken on me. I think I'm going to stop twisting them on so damn hard or something.

I'm very gentle with those caps, nonetheless my Noxzema and Vergulde Hand caps are broken too :(

I think I'm with you, Joe. I have found some small tubs for travel (2 oz.) but I think I might try squeezing some of the stuff in tubes out into a lidded bowl or tub. (I really like the ones JoAnna uses for TSD creams.)

I see a run on empty TSD cream tubs coming!! :D My Proraso cap is broken too. No big deal since I haven't used it in about six months. Wonder if a toothpaste cap would fit? Those never break!

Can we have an intervention with Michael and Fergie?

My vergulde hand did it too, but in a different manner. With that one, the stud that goes into the hole to close it, broke off inside the hole. I can flip the cap open, but it's still closed.

With the proraso, I really don't think force is the issue. Something inside the cream is breaking down that plastic. My tube has probably only been opened twice.

This came up in another forum and regrettably is a quite common problem it seems. I've also had caps break on Noxzema and Erasmic tubes. Generally when this has happened I just start keeping the entire tube in an Anchor-Hocking sealed glass bowl until I exhaust it.

Strangely enough, I had the caps on 2 De Vergulde Hand tubes break, and I had to throw them away, because I had no tubs to squeeze the cream into. For my Noxzema tubes, I have an old Ingram tube that's empty, so I keep the cap just in case the Noxzema one breaks, because it fits the tube perfectly.

All of you...put a cork in it! Oh, and that might solve the tube problem too! :rofl

when I was in Italy, I broke a toilet seat - go figure! It must be an Italian thing - some inside joke or something

The same thing happened with my GFT cream and I just pop my cap back on and set it upside down on the top. Go figure. I guess were to "manly" for shave cream.
