One of the guys at work has a bump that we think is an ingrown hair. I don't know if it was caused by my shaving him or by his own shaving, but, once you get a bump, how do you get rid of them?
Thank you,
Elizabeth

If you have shaved him before it might be yours, otherwise it would be his.
Most of the time you simply have to let them grow out but there are some treatments put out by some of the companies. Art of Shaving comes to mind. They will cease to be an issue with proper prep and shaving technique.. like a DE or a straight.

I treat the bump like any other blemish or infection. Bringing the swelling down will allow the hair to grow back out properly.

Myself, I treat a severe ingrown hair like acne. I try to dry it out using an alcohol based aftershave (yup... it burns). In my particular case, the drying out helps to free the hair. For the more severe cases, I end up fighting them for about a week (assuming I can fight the desire to over mess with it)

Thank-you. So, maybe until I can get the good stuff, some ZapZit will work?

If his skin behaves the same as mine it probably would, but I think an alcohol based aftershave would work too.

Warm Compress for a day or so. If it gets worse you could Lance it or take it to a dermatologist.

Second, to Jo and the rest who made it possible, Thank you for giving me back my title. You love me; you REALLY love me! (I always wanted to say that).
Big Hugs,

The large one is a razor (primarily used for underarms), the small one is an ingrown hair remover of course! :D
Actually, they're woodworking tools used for shaping the seats of Windsor chairs (and other things I'm sure).

My hair is conducive to ingrown hairs and my skin is very sensitive to razor irritation. As a result, I'm prone to ghastly razor bumps. A long time spent tinkering with products, techniques, and routines has finally made my skin manageable. It's much better to avoid them altogether than to repair them after the fact.
Warm Compress for a day or so.

A hot towel will do wonders. If you have clients who regularly suffer with ingrown hairs, you could try Barc Bump Down. It does sting and nothing is a quick fix. However, it is indispensable for my volatile skin.
