Some have probably noticed I'm not posting a lot these days. Many things going on here in addition to the usual holiday season shopping, family, etc.

I'm happy to say that after six long years (and trust me, six feels long with what I do for a living) of being with Dell, I will be officially turning in my notice this week. I'm excited to say I have accepted a new opportunity to take over the network administration role for a local non-profit orginization here in Austin. My daily life will change going from big corporate to non-profit but I am greatly looking forward to the new challenges ahead. Hopefully after the new year ya'll see me posting a bit more again.

Happy times here in TX, just thought I'd share with my extended family here at TSD ::

Happy Holidays everyone!

I wondered where you'd been, Mike. Not even a comment about the Duke of Kent buying a Tulip! :D

Can certainly see why all of that might keep you just a little busy! Congrats on the new job, Mike. I've worked for large companies my entire career and have occasionally wondered what it would be like to "downsize".

Does this mean we can't get Dell discounts any more? :D (Just a joke, guys - so don't be bustin' down Mike's door looking for a last minute deal!)

Hope that non-profit feeds your Davidoff addiction ;)
Best of luck, Mike

Today I walked out the door of Dell for the last time. I won't miss the job but I will miss the people I've worked with for the last few years.

Now for the next chapter of my career ::

Mike, it might be sad in a way, because if you work in a place for a while the people get to be like family, but I'll bet you also feel a weight off your shoulders, too. Good luck in your new endeavor.

I started a new job Wednesday. I know it's early, but I think this will be the best job I have ever had.
