nice a barberpole shave brush closet. only problem is most people have more then 3-4 brushes and would need a couple of poles.. and then im not talking about freaks who have easy 30+ brushes.
but your top fav. 4 brushes can easy be stored here and then you rotate from your stock brushes that you store else where .
LoL this would look so good on the side entry of my shave den (bathroom...)

I'd love to see it all painted up, maybe even some spinning lights? :D
Nice job as always Bill!
STACKABLE... Lighted globes... I knew that was coming.

For those that have a bunch of brushes, it just frees up some counter space for other cool stuff. And eh hem... some people around here only have 2 brushes... I have proof.
I only put the masking tape on the front so some of you could recognize that it was going to be a barber pole instead of a Lord of the Rings scroll holder. Of course it will have red, white, and blue stripes. Magnets keep it closed, by the way. I will also drill a couple holes towards the back for ventilation after I paint it. Lighted and spinning center section? I guess that's doable. There could be a drop-down center tube that is opened by a twist of the bottom globe to allow the shelving to drop for access. Deluxe model could be motorized and activate by remote control too... Anybody got enough money to pay for something like that?
Floor to ceiling model? 12 brushes? Y'ee, that's what the 5 foot tall cigar-store wooden Indian is going to hold when it is opened.

Fantastic!
Ya know depending upon the diameter of the shelves one could stack up The Shave Den soaps and creams in there. In other words, different sizes for different storage options.
Ahhhhhhhh say Bill, do you have an agent? :D
Very cool, Bill!
I see 3 brushes in the second pic, though. :pI was actually referring to someone else who was showing a nifty stackable brush stand....
.... who is blaming relatives for stealing all his brushes... :rofl

I should post a pic of the other brushes that I do have in my possession, they will make everyone scream..:o
Well I'm off to work on the next project......
It's a Dixie cup type brush dispenser, wall mounted of course....:rofl

Very very nice. You guys should be proud. One of these days, I need to solve my own brush storage problem. I pretty much have my needs figured out though.
1) Only one brush every 24 hours needs to be hanging upside down. Of course brushes come in every shape and size so the stand has to be flexible or adjustable.
2) Every other brush can be stored standing up and close together in a non-moist environment. This holds true for all shave equipment. Keep it protected. Keep it dry.
3) Take care of the exception to the rule. The one brush that cannot stand up on it's own due the handle shape.
Keep up the good work guys!

As a side note, I'm one of those who doesn't think a brush needs to hang upside down unless it's like this one (http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3744). I really don't like making a reference to another site from the Shave Den, but here (http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16346)is the argument, or one of them anyway, in regards to capillary action and evaporation of the water from brushes.

That's the brush style I was talking about. I have one just like it. It's nice but a pain to store. I agree with the not needing to be upside down philosophy. I'm just afraid my enclosed shave locker at work that I'm running a risk. Paranoia I guess. I take the added precaution of wrapping a paper towel around the brush to wick away moisture, toss the paper towel and then fluffing the brush before putting it away.

The way I always looked at it was, if I shake the bulk of the water out and then stand it upright, evaporation will do the rest. If the brush rots? Well then, I'll just have to buy another! (radical idea I know...;))
All finished, and stacked!!!

Brilliant!
For those with limited imaginations, you can also put other things in it. And if you went from 3 inch PVC to 6 inch, you could put in the bigger shaving soap tubs. I think I'll do a 6-inch next...

A bit of trivia and a word of warning about barber poles. Here in Korea one pole means you can get your hair cut, two poles means it is a brothel. So you should limit your brush cabinet to one, unless you want a line of Korean men to form outside your bathroom door! :D:D

i think that is a great idea but two poles one for brushes and one for soaps with stripes going in diferent directions would be cool .but great job of it.
