I'm a man who loves his shave.....
Hi folks!
I'm Tom from New Jersey. Many people think of Jersey as what they see on the Sopranos...I live in the country in New Jersey... It's lovely here.
Anyways....I've just started wetshaving a week ago or less and really find enjoyment in it,
So far I have/use
Gillette brass three piece razor with Gillette Personna Swedish blade. VERY SMOOTH. the first time I shaved with this I didn't think I was shaving anything...it was just so smooth.
Honeybees spa glycerine soap. A bud gave this to me cause it was harsh to his face. I am trying to work up a GREAT lather without success. I end up face lathering. I am focusing on the technique for getting a GREAT lather in a bowl with this..even on my face it's not a great lather..
Inexpensive boar brush...Maybe it's time to put the C&E badger brush into action...I figured it'd be best, for the future, to start off with the lowest of an acceptable brush and thus I'd learn technique better..
Nothing pre or post shave...YET!
:)
So I've come into the den to have a good chat, kick back in front of the fire...Getting cold in Jersey. Nightime lows of 21F and if we hit the 40's in the day I'm happy...Learn from youse guys that have experience and I'll share my stories of success and, chuckle, failures.
Best Regards to ALL
Tom

Greetings, Tom !
Glad you stopped by ::

Now....
go to the "Shave School" section and watch Mantics videos and read the Hot Towel Techniques and PreShave Methodology Sticky.
Then use the Search feature for questions you may have.
There is already a lot of info here but we'll be available if you need us.

Welcome to THE DEN!!!!

The conversation is always good.....lots of useful information.

Any type of questions you have..feel free to ask.

The C&E brush is a good one...lots of practice will get that lathering correct.

Welcome to The Shave Den, Tom!

That is such a well written intro, I think it deserves a free TSD soap or cream. Check out The Shave Den's Store (http://theshaveden.com/store/index.php), and pick out a scent. Then send me a pm with your choice.

Very nice, JoAnna!! An excellent gesture!

Tom, I highly recommend the soaps. Which one? Who cares! I have 7 and they're all outstanding!! Why not order several and let her throw in an extra? (no, I do not get kickbacks!!!) Not sure what that does to the shipping charge though.

In any case, Tom, welcome to The Shave Den!
