Well it finnally snowed here in Korea.
I made hot cocoa for the first time from scratch.
I used herseys cocoa, brown sugar, lowfat milk (I know not so decadent)
and vanilla. I left out the salt that the recipe calls for.
It was honestly the best I've ever had. I've only had canned ready mix, and I did pretty good for my first time. It was for my girlfriend, but I did get to try a sip.
Haaaaaa. Hot cocoa requires Swiss cocoa and milk straight from the cow!

How do you heat the cow without ticking her off?

Kill her, take 300g of flank and cook it with finely cut shallots.
I still have 100g of Robert McConnell D. C. Black Honey Teedose to finish. Like most aromatics I’ve tried, it smells divine in the pouch and is sickly-sweet when smoked. I’m almost tempted to throw it in the dustbin.

Seriously, what do you do when you have a tobacco that bites and you don’t enjoy at all? :(

I give it away for someone else to try. In my case though I don't have enough of any pipe tobacco to give away since I smoke so infrequently. That's OK Yukio, toss it if it's that bad. You can't ship it. Make room for something else.
Oh, I could send it to either you or Rick, I’d have no problem lying to the French customs, however, given the weakness of the dollar, sending it would probably cost more than buying it in the USA.

No kidding. Rates have gone way up. So what are your favorites so far?
I’m not that experienced but I would say English blends (Rattray’s Red Rapparee and Accountants) and full Virginia (Rattray’s Old Gowrie). I’m not fundamentally against aromatics as many pipe smokers seem to be, but I have to admit they often bite too much and leave your tongue sore for 24h.
So far, I’ve tried:
– Rattray’s Red Rapparee, Accountants, Marlin Flake, Highland Targe, Brown Clunee, Charles Mixture, Hal’ O the Wynd and Old Gowrie.
– Robert McConnell’s Scottish Flake and Black Honey
– Dunhill’s EMP
– Peterson Special Reserve 2007
– Samuel Gawith Chocolate Flake
– W.O. Larsen Old Fashioned
I still have in my stash:
Dunhill Nightcap
MacBaren Burley
Peterson Irish Oak
Peterson Sunset Breeze
Rattray’s Bagpipers Dream
Rattray’s Terry Red
Rattray’s Black Mallory
Rattray’s Red Rapparee
Rattray’s Old Gowrie
Robert McConnell Pure Perique
Robert McConnell Red Roses
Robert McConnell Special London
Samuel Gawith Gawith Black Cherry Cavendish
Samuel Gawith Gawith Fire Dance Flake
Vauen Jubilaümsedition
So far, the moral of this story is I should only have two tins opened at the same time, one of them being always an English blend. I think my next tobaccos will be Rattray’s Black Mallory and Red Roses.

What else?
MIX it with something and try to create a better product
.................................................. ..Sir Mix-A-Lot
and Yukio, you really should look at buying an Igloo for your baccy.
They are cheap, airtight and will store your goods forever (under the proper conditions, of course)
A little soap dish with Florists Oasis ("wet" styrofoam), and distilled water ONLY !! and your tobacco will only improve with age.
DO NOT put open tins in your Igloordor.
Rust does not complement any tobacco.
If I mix a mediocre product with a better one, I fear that I will improve it the former but degrade the latter. However it’s possible a bland Virginia may soften too strong an aromatic while this one would spice up that one. :think002
Rattray's Black Mallory in Vauen.
