View Full Version : Razor Number 3
Here is that 10/8 you guys may remember from that other thread (http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2621). I may have to do this in a couple posts to catch you up. The one pic shows the blade that matches the profile of the scales. Notice the carpet tape. I use it to keep the two halves together while I work on them.
Here's the blade and a pick of the scales going together.
Looks neat! Is this something you are putting together for JLStorm?

Beautiful work as always.
Is there a reason you stamp the blade rather than the tang with your name?

Admittedly, I like it less than n°1 and n°2 as I find too massive, however, your craftsmanship never ceases to amaze me.

(thank you Bobby for adding that emoticon)

I thought it looked quite massive in the photos too, but I bet some of that is an illusion because there's nothing to scale it with in the photo. I wouldn't be surprised if it feels quite manueverable in the hand despite being a fairly large blade width. The more I look at photo 1 above, the more I like the overall design.
This one isn't all that big. The one last year is, though... 12/8

I've seen razors with just "Bill" and now I see this one has just "Ellis." Fifty years from now, some guy on this forum will talk about the vintage Ellis razor he found in his dad's stuff. A straight razor historian will point out that "Bill" and "Ellis" razors were made by the same person at the turn of the century and weren't common. I think 50 years from now your work will be just as impressive! :1respect

A BIG +1. Beautiful stuff, Bill. I hope someday to be fortunate enough to pass one your razors down to the next generation.
