We have brought back an age old design, specifically designed for travel or those neat freaks out there who like tidy packages! These are 2 sided paddle strops with a razor compartment tucked under the swinging lid. The cavity will hold most standard 5/8 razors and some 6/8 that are not too thick across the scales. Made from hard maple with a clear finish, the paddle measures 1 3/4" x 9" and we find the no-handle design fits easily into the hand like a Barber's Hone and packs much easier than those with handles. A variety of leather choices can be had, horsehide, brushed red latigo and a smooth natural tanned for pastes.
From $49.95
Thanks,
Tony

Now that is a great finished product. I followed the development of this at SRP and glad it came out like this.

Thanks Issac. I made a prototype based on an older box strop I had, scaled it up a little for more surface area. This is actually one of my first joint projects not made entirely by me. I have several Amish friends who do the woodwork for me then I cut and glue the leather, and finish the edges myself.
We have a really nice improvement coming on our 4 sided paddles in about a month. Only so many hours in the day so it's nice having help now with the woodwork from two very talented young men.
Take care,
Tony

Very clever idea, I bet it becomes popular for the travelling straight shaver. :D
